5.0 out of 5 stars Horrifying April 30, 2012
Verified Purchase
This book is horrifying. The book is full of disturbing, horrific, and terrifying accounts of some of the worlds most vilest's of criminals. Each and every account makes you scratch your head as to the mindset of a killer. Some of the accounts will make you cry, some will make you mad, and some will make you look the ones you love and swear to their protection from this present evil world. This book is very long and and has many categories of crime. The author has done yeoman's work in research and put it all in this book. For .99 cents it is a must read for all who are interested in true crime.

3.0 out of 5 stars intresting book, but incorrect facts June 18, 2012

I really enjoyed this book in the begining, espically for $.99. I thought the stories were intresting. I'm a fan of Law and Order and Law and Order C.I. and a lot of the episodes are based on these true crime stories.

The book had my attention until I got to the end. The story on the Mendez brothers had incorrect facts. The books says that the brothers killed their parents because they were sexualy abused. THIS IS NOT TRUE. This is what the brothers said, and their attorneys ran with it. It's well documented that at the end of the day where they testified to this supposed abuse in the cell behind the court room while changing their clothes back to their jail uniforms they would give each other high-fives and make comments on how well they fooled the court/jury with this bogus testimony. their father was strict, but didn't sexually abuse them. they killed their parents because these greedy boys wanted their parents money, plain and simple.

Then I got to the story of the Columbine school shooting by Eric Harris and Dylan Kleob (not sure of this spelling) and there were more incorrect facts then correct ones. this author claims that these boys shot up the school because they were bullied. THIS IS JUST NOT TRUE. There are so many incorrect facts in this book regarding this horrible crime to list here. I read an EXCELLENT book by Dave Cullen called simply Columbine. I read a lot of true crime books and never have cried while reading one with the exception Dave Cullen's book. Now this author did such a great job getting all sides of this tradegy, you feel for these truly innocent victims. If you want to know about the Columbine school shooting I highly recommend Dave Cullen's book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative June 16, 2012

This was a very well written review on serial killers. There were even stories I'd never heard of, and that is saying a lot with over 20 years of reading and researching the paradigm of serial killers in general.

3.0 out of 5 stars A lot of interesting details July 2, 2013

Although I was familiar with some of the criminals written about in this book, there were so many details that weren't well known, it made for an interesting read. And there were many crime stories that I'd never heard about. The stories aren't written in great detail but they seemed very factual. I also liked that the stories were categorized.

It was interesting and informative but not exciting like I was expecting. It was however a good peak into what makes the killers tick.
