  • Pure Shot - Shooting has been transformed. Players have the intelligence to adjust their stride and approach angle to find the best position for hitting the back of the net. Well-hit balls feel satisfying and goals are rewarding. As well as quality strikes, players can now shoot while off-balance or rushed.
  • Real Ball Physics - Strike the ball with more force and finesse. Realistic ball physics now determines the trajectories of balls in game, enabling players to strike the ball with force from distance, drill low rising shots with accuracy, and blast dipping or swerving shots, just like real soccer players
  • Protect The Ball - Dominate midfield and dictate the tempo of a match. Fend-off and block defenders from the ball while dribbling at any speed. Protect the ball from opponents to control play through midfield and dictate the pace of the match. Plus, out-muscle opponents for position before receiving the ball, then turn defenders to carve out opportunities.
  • Teammate Intelligence - Better decision-making deliver tighter, smarter marking and improved run tracking. Defenders recognize opportunities to provide support and win back possession. Attacking player have new ways to outsmart their opponents and break down tighter, more intelligent defences by creating space for themselves, running along the backline, and checking their pace.
  • Spring Dribble Turns - Utilize quick, explosive cuts and turns to beat defenders one-on-one while sprinting with the ball. Player can move in any direction, preserving their natural momentum and maintaining possession of the ball

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware, critical features removed! November 25, 2013
Platform for Display:Xbox One|Verified Purchase
DO NOT buy this game unless EA for once does the right thing and adds back in the critical missing gameplay modes which have been inexplicably removed from last years game. Another PR disaster for EA.

If you, like the majority of FIFA fans, only play the game for online Team Play 2vs2, 3vs3, etc. be aware that it is no longer in this years game.Tournament Mode has also been removed. I reitterate that custom lobbies for Online Team Play, and Team Play random matchups are no longer in the game. You can only play in these modes with fake created pros, no real rosters!

Beyond disappointed, this game was the main reason I bought an Xbox One. Do not waste your money unless EA patches this years game. Adding these features back in as "new features" for the World Cup Edition or FIFA 15 and charging full price is not acceptable.

1.0 out of 5 stars The most interesting features just disappeared !! November 27, 2013
By Jean
Platform for Display:Xbox One
I've been a big fan of the FIFA games for almost 15 years. But the Next Gen version is different. The most interesting game modes have just disappeared : no tournament creation mode, no way to play 2v2 games locally. I really hate this game. What EA Sports has done is just inacceptable, they should do an update to correct those mistakes.

2.0 out of 5 stars Be aware! March 14, 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox One|Verified Purchase
The game gives you the felling that haven't been finished on time, and they shipped despite of that. It crashes often when you start it, there is no a real graphic advance between x360 version, and online gaming setup is a nightmare.

1.0 out of 5 stars The game crashes repeatedly in multiple game modes. December 15, 2013
By Matt L.
Platform for Display:Xbox One
As of this moment, avoid this game.

I keep getting crashes back to the Xbox One home screen after playing games in Career mode and FIFA Ultimate Team mode. None of my game progress is saved, so I've played the same matches over and over in each game mode, hoping that it wouldn't crash, but each time it has. At this point this game is a waste of money. Whenever this issue is fixed it has the potential to be a great game, but it's unplayable at the moment.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's decent, but not that great. March 3, 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox One
Good graphics, but random, unrealistic character animations. Great controls, fun although often tedious. Get it if you enjoy this type of game, but don't assume it's right for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Getting better with time! January 31, 2014
By Drifter
Platform for Display:Xbox One
I realize that some of these reviews were written shortly after the release of both Xbox one console and game. Even after I got the game in late December I had a couple of the same problems with the crash to the Xbox one screen. There have been at least 2 updates on this game since and maybe the problems are resolved now. Since then this is the most fun, realilistic playing sports game for the next gen console out now. The graphics are superb, the game play is well defined as to the AI does think for your team and the computer's team. It's not run down the pitch and kick ball at net a 100 times a games then win 40 to mil over opponent. I like any sports game to have some realism and this one hits that mark. Problems to begin with but overall EA nailed the FIFA series with this being the best.

1.0 out of 5 stars Greed kills videogames - "looks pretty, plays ugly" February 3, 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox One|Verified Purchase
I have given this game a lot of my time and while I do get some enjoyment out of it from time to time I simply cannot stomach giving it more than a 1 star review.

It should come to no surprise that EA's main focus is on ultimate team. They will probably make around 300 million on DLC alone this year. A lot of my negative experience is related to this mode of game play and my review will mostly be centered around this mode.

The nice thing, as should be expected, is the graphics did seem to get a face-lift and the game menus and presentation have a more professional feel. There were some added shot animation and physics that give the game a real nice touch but that's just the point, the game looks pretty, plays ugly. Before I start this tirade it is important to know that I am a very competitive person and I want an even battleground. EA fails to deliver here. The "scripting" is far worse this year. If your opponent has the ball in the last 5 minutes of either half or right after you just scored, hold on to your seats this may get ugly.

During these "momentum" times you will notice these game mechanics more and most likely have a bad time:

1. Switching to the correct defender. Nothing infuriates me more than this because they toned down the ability of the AI to cover runs this year. IMO this was actually a great thing but they did not safe guard players against the inevitable abuse of the lack of AI support covering runs (i.e. kick off 50+ yard passes). In general this feature is bugged. Not being able to select defenders on corners or when the ball is in the air is a bit too similar to Russian roulette for my taste.

2. Winning defensive battles
a) Tackling is drastically affected during these times.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game.
I haven't played many FIFA games. I sold the last one I got within days (I think it was 2012) because I lost interest quickly. This one is more fun.
