FIFA 15 - PlayStation 4

Next Gen Goalkeeper

Goalkeepers have been rewritten for FIFA 15. The most requested gameplay improvement from FIFA fans, Goalkeepers will now look, move, and think like their real world counterparts with a new intelligence system that allows keepers to better anticipate shots and passes, and display an array of new save animations. Keeper movement is now fluid and responsive.

FUT 15 Concept Squad

Think you know what would make a winning team? Concept Squads is a powerful new squad planning tool that allows you to put together squads using every player available in FUT. Use concept squads to plan out your next moves. Find replacements for players, test out the chemistry of an entirely new midfield, or even a whole new squad before investing in the Transfer Market.

FIFA 15 Ultimate Team

With over 12 million gamers and counting, Ultimate Team is the most popular game mode within EA SPORTS FIFA franchise. This year, FIFA 15: Ultimate Team takes the mode to a whole new level with fresh features such as Concept Squads, Friendly Seasons, and more.

Emotional Intelligence

For the first time ever, FIFA 15 models the emotions of all 22 players on the pitch, giving fans a chance to experience first-hand the attitudes and personalities of the world’s best football players during a match. Players now recognize situations that trigger an emotional response and react naturally based on the game context. For example, a player that is being repeatedly fouled by an opponent could confront that opponent depending on the severity of the challenge and context of the competition. Players will respond authentically with new reactions to decisions, bad tackles, missed chances, goals, and other pivotal moments throughout the game. There are over 600 potential emotional reactions that could play out over the course of a game.

Dynamic Match Presentation

Match Day will feel more dynamic and alive than ever before – immersing you in the match action and never taking you out of the moment. With region specific behaviors, crowds will now be distinguished by cheers and chants designated to their club, league, country, or continent. Fans at Anfield in Liverpool feel and act differently than the fans at La Bombonera in Buenos Aires. Commentators will mention specific fan behavior triggered by unique fan moments like the Poznan or club songs. New Bench Reactions, 10 Player Goal Celebrations, ball boy animations, and contextual commentary will keep FIFA 15 fans engaged in the story of the match.

Team Management

FIFA 15 gives fans brand new way to manage their squads and team sheets in several modes, including Career Mode. Customize a variety of line-ups in up to six different Team Sheets per club so you can easily change your strategy based on your opponent, changing tactics, and the health of your squad.

Agility & Control

FIFA 15 adds an all new level of responsiveness and control. Run Touch Dribbling allows players to better keep the ball under control in a sprint and in close-touch situations, giving personality to the most recognized players in the world. Leo Messi will dribble and move like he does in real life. Updated player biomechanics means that players will now react and move with balance and closer control when in possession of the ball. More precise steps and turns at low speed, and closer control at high speeds give fans more control and increased mobility when commanding players on the pitch.

Authentic Player Visuals

The FIFA 15 development team created the Next Generation football player – ensuring players appear true to their physical form. An all-new physically-based rendering lighting system changes the way players look, ensuring users are able to see a level of detail in players’ faces which hasn’t been possible before. New body rigging and character models make players feel powerful and athletic, while kits move realistically and react with the environment becoming dirty with mud and grass as the match unfolds.

4.0 out of 5 stars FIFA 15 - A good step forward but still needs some work September 23, 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4|Edition:Standard
Fans got FIFA 14 last year on the new consoles and in all fairness it was a high resolution version of the current gen models. While it had a few tweaks here and there, fans still eagerly awaited what the new FIFA 15 version to see what it could do.

After playing a few games, FIFA 15 has a noticeably weightier feel to it. And by that I mean that the game feels less arcade-like that it has in past years and more strategic in gameplay. Gone are the days when you can pinball passes around hoping for an easy score when now every pass you play needs to be played right but more on that in a moment.

Graphics

In this department, I have to say that there are times when FIFA 15 shines and times when it really doesn’t. EA did a lot of work in fixing some of the players’ facial models to make them look more like their real world counterparts but in a lot of places they still miss. Also EA Sports still really needs to take cues from 2K Sports in really bringing players to life as you still don’t get to see a lot of what sets players apart including their tattoos.

The stadiums for the most part looks better and it looked like EA finally squashed one of the weird lighting bugs that has been occurring since the FIFA 12 iteration that caused the game to go to night time temporarily when players subbed in and out. While the crowds do look less like 2D pop outs, It’s still too many clumps of people doing the same thing that really keeps them from looking individualized but, we really didn’t come to this game to watch the crowd, right?

The lighting effects while better still leaves a lot to be desired as there are times I am wondering why a game played at 9pm still has the look of a 3pm afternoon affair.

3.0 out of 5 stars More scripting than a Michael Bay movie October 29, 2014
By Nick B
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4|Edition:Standard
My FIFA love is dying. I've played FIFA off and on since FIFA 2001 and pretty religiously for about 5 years now. I'd say I'm a pretty damn good player. This game feels so scripted at times that I can't get my players to do anything right sometimes and then others feel like I could kick a lobbed through-ball all the way across the pitch and score off a bicycle kick from a 37-rated 14 year old midget player (if they were available) every time I attempted it. There is something wrong when at first I can dominate so badly that I score 3 goals in about 15 minutes in game time, then change absolutely nothing about the way I play and give up 5 in the same amount of time.

Also the soundtrack is terrible. It's probably because I'm a crotchety 30 year old man that doesn't want to hear Avicii every time the menu comes up.

Yes, the game is fun at times. It's still easily the best football/soccer game out there. But between their relentless pushing of Ultimate Team pack sales and obvious scripting of games (despite what many people say it's horribly obvious to me that there is scripting) I'm losing a little bit of love for this series. I still do and will continue to play it more than other game but it just irks me sometimes. Also Avicii is terrible. Firmware 2.0 means I can listen to good menu music now though so that's fixed.

its an awesome game but I hate the damn SCRIPT that make you get a headache, changing players is so random based on their stupid SCRIPT, players will watch the ball when they are down and some of them just keep walking and watching to receive a goal ! PLEASE REMOVE THIS STUPID SCRIPT, it`s not you that playing sometimes, computer decide you loose or win to make you PLAY MORE ONLINE, Stupid Politics !!! I HATE EVERYONE WHO MADE THIS SCRIPT !!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Ohhhh what a hit son! September 24, 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4|Edition:Standard
This is my first FIFA game on the new generation of consoles. I played FIFA 10-14 heavily on Xbox 360 before deciding to make the jump to PS4. I got the game at midnight release on Monday and have played enough matches since then to have a decent opinion on it.

GAMEPLAY - My biggest problem with FIFA 14 was the insanely overpowered headers. Crosses were pinpoint accurate even when you were shoving the passer out of bounds towards the corner and defenders almost never challenged for the ball, making it way too easy for anyone to score just by getting the ball to the wing and pressing the lob button. And let's not forget corners. They were so easy to score in FIFA 14 that I felt like I had conceded a penalty every time my opponent won a corner. I'm happy to report that crosses and corners have both been toned down to a much more realistic level in FIFA 14. Spamming crosses won't be very effective this year, meaning all the people who relied on that will have to actually learn how to play. That's a big positive in my book.

Another area where I had some issues with FIFA 14 was the sluggish feel of the dribbling and running. I eventually got used to it after playing a lot of matches, but the game felt slow in comparison to FIFA 11-13. They made a conscious effort to improve that this year and I think you can feel it when you play the game. Fast players actually feel fast. Movement is generally responsive. It almost feels like you're gliding at times, but I'm still in the process of adjusting to the console/game switch. My early sense is that I like the physics and control a little more than last year's game.
