FIFA Fever,

If you are in any way, shape, or form a "soccer fan", this DVD will send you through outrageous thrills! It has the best of the best! The best headers, fights, saves, goals...it even featured footage from the 1930 World Cup! It has Men, Women and even some Youth footage. Every moment I was anticipating the next to come. Pele, Beckham, Zidane, Platini....they're all in it with their best plays and moments. This is by far the best soccer DVD I have ever seen.

Having bought this DVD I was looking forward to sitting down in front of the TV for a few hours and having a great time, But NO I found this a very poor viewing experience. I don't know if it was the very boring narrative or even the lack of enthusiasm in the voice. I also found that each section didn't role into one another in was jumping from place to place... It just seems that it was put together by a non-football(soccer) producer. I have had this for a number of months and still haven't watched it all.

The Greatest DVD Record of the World's Greatest Show!,
By The Rogue (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: FIFA Fever (DVD)
Every four years (barring world war) the greatest national teams meet on the pitch for national glory and individual fame. Watching this DVD reminds me of some of the best moments of my life, when I (and a couple billion of others from planet earth)get lost in the most intense spectacle there is. But the footage from before I was born is what blows me away. We take for granted that Brazil is the perennial favorite, but in '58 it was a different story. I damn near cried when I watched England win in '66. And to see Cryuff lose in '74 must rank as one of the greatest inequities in the history of sport. But there he is in his number 14 jersey, young and brilliant. I cannot really scratch the surface of what is here, but I will tell you this: If you know me, you know what you are getting for your birthday or under the tree this year.

I love sport, and especially soccer. I don't know much about the deep history of it, nor the great moments. This is an awesome DVD and always steals my attention when it's on. I definitely recommend this to any 'newbies' to the sport, or history buffs. Great footage, and organized into really interesting moments. Can't beat the price either.

Good, not great,

I agree with some previous reviewers about how this DVD could have been better; it's good if you're new into Football (Soccer), and need an overall history of the game, but it falls way short of the mark for us mature fans of the game; it could have spent some extra time (especially being a double DVD) showing some fo the best games of the World Cups, and I think it was kind of sloppy by showing different categories all at random. Another thing I noticed (and I don't know who put this together), that 2 big names were left out on this "The Best Of";* One name left out here was Matildo Ubaldo Fillol from Argentina as one of the best goalkeepers of the tournaments; he was a key player on Argentina's victory in 1978 and one of the best keepers in the world at the end of the 70's and early 80's. * The other name left out was Eder from Brasil in 1982 as one of the best strikers; check the incredible goals he scored against Argentina on a free kick and the superb goal he scored against Scotland after a pass from Junior. Anyway, overall the DVD is good but not great.........

Great DVD. I did not get to see the Wold Cups before 1982 so FIFA fever takes me back into time and shows me what I missed. The goals, saves, bloopers and the fanaticos. This will hold me until Germany 2006! Cheers!
