As close to soccer perfection as a video game can get!,

I have played several versions of the Fifa series and must say that this game is, by far, the most realistic of them all. However, realism is not the only factor that contributed to my rating of 5 stars. It is the flow of the game play that makes this game well-worth the money.
Firstly, the graphics are great. The amount of detail in the players' faces alone should tell you how good the graphics are. But then you throw in the detail of the crowds, the graphic detail of the fields, and even the detail in the game balls and you can pretty much say this game's graphics are almost without parallel. Second, the replayability, as with most sports games, is always going to be there. However, the sheer number of teams this game has would let you play a different team everyday for several months without playing the same team twice! I'm a soccer fan, but this game takes soccer knowledge to a whole new level. Lastly, the feature that makes this game worth the money more than anything else is the first-touch feature. This feature lets you receive the ball and direct it into space for your player to run to it. It is very realistic and something that makes this game more realistic than any other soccer game out there. In conclusion, this is the best soccer game on the market today. The teams, graphics, and new features make it stand head and shoulders above even its 2004 counterpart. You may buy this game and never play anything else! Great investment for those limited dollars!

firstly i am really surprised by the negative reviews for this game. i have not played the winning eleven series except maybe the first one and it was really, really horrible. commentating sucked, graphics were horrible and their were no real life players or teams. so i didnt give it much of a chance. see i think commentating is such a big part of a soccer game.
now about fifa 2005, i love it. commentating is almost perfect, true they repeat themselves but i dont think that can be changed, and if the game is boring then they talk about sponsorships, soccer in the early days and general stuff. the sound is just amazing, scoring a goal at home feels so unbeliavably rewarding and having a player booed at at an away game and then seeing him score feels so satisfying. graphics are top notch, you can actually dribble past players instead of just passing the ball around, you can send players on runs, score amazing bicycle kicks, headers, long range shots and almost every other way. it is hard to score the same goal again again a diffrent formation team or if your team's formation has changed. the ai is unbeliavable, they pass the ball around looking for holes in your defense, sometimes passing all the way back to defense from your corner flag to try and make you pull up and give them more space, if you are playing a good team they cut down your passing lanes forcing you to try your skills and be more creative, and if you pull a crazy move out of your hat the commentators go crazy. i am honestly still playing semi pro even though i got the game last year. the career is a plus although it does get repetitive after a while. i cheated though and created super players so maybe being honest makes it more challenging. playing games in diffrent countries results in those players yelling out instructions in their native language. in english the coach can yell out "through ball" when he sees an opening or "foul" when the ref doesnt see one. now for the bad, their doesnt seem to be an "advantage taken" call from the ref, so sometimes getting fouled and the ball running to a team mate and having the ref stop the game can be frustrating, but then again when defending a proffesional foul will result in your player getting sent off and you having to defend a free kick rather than allowing a goal. the scouting and transfer markets lack important tools, like search engines for younger players and you have to hunt players down from their teams. overall this is a very nice game and i love it to bits, nothing like having heaps of friends over to embarass. EDITED 4/12/05 i need to add a little more to this review... you can always press x to change to a closer player...you can let the computer do it for you or you can do it yourself...i really dont know how some of the reviews claim you can't. secondly, if you go into game setting you can change the speed of the game from slow, normal or fast...i have noticed that if you do not have the ball your players move slower but only strikers, midfielders and defenders move just as fast. also sliding tackles result in fouls most of the time i admit...but not if you have a really good defender with good tackling attributes..and you have to tackle from the right direction, a tackle from behind will be called, but one face up will not even if you totally wipe the player out....its called winning the ball. if you play this game for a while you can improve your passing skills, i have bettered myself and its a joy to see my team playing the ball around, changing wings and just goofing around when i'm a goal up to frustrate my oponents..also if you are winning by a large margin the other team basically gives up...but if you're playing away and only winning by a goal, the last thirty minutes are intense, your opponents throw EVERYBODY forward, it crazy holding on for the win, praying the minutes would tick by faster. if you do lose possesion the best thing to do is change players...press x...to a defender or player down field and WAIT for your opponent to come to you....9 out of 10 times once you do this the A.I will pass back and wait for reinforcments. you can win the ball back..sliding isnt the only or best way to do it, just press O, or kick and your player will muscle him out. i just played world class last night, against liverpool at anfield, i am united with the best team ever and i won 2-1, i'm still celebrating. the rivalry is crazy intense, the fans boo you cause you're playing away, liverpool threw everyone up and that street urchin cisse almost made me pay. my point being this is a very fun game, difficult enough to make your day if you win but not enough to throw the controller at the tv....although the poor dog almost got it when he decided the best time to walk across the room when i was counter-attacking.....see, that was what the only option i had, attacking is almost impossible away from home. best defend and use the L2 button to hoof the ball forward to players..if you master this.......its unbelivable...one touch lobbing the ball all across the field. now for the kid who reviewed this game...son, you have to stop the impact button again inbetween the green lines...it goes like this...press X first to start it off, press X again when the ticker goes high (but not to the red)...then press X again between the green lines. but before all this...make sure you use the right controller stick to move the ball impact recticule to make the ball curl around the wall, and the left controller stick to aim for the top corner of the goal.

FIFA 2005 is a worthy installment of this soccer series. The flow of the game is incredibly realistic, and all the famous players look suprisingly like their real-life counterparts.

First of all.... Hella cool. Fluid play(Faster play than 04 but not as fast and jumpy like 03), realistic outcomes... shooting is harder... (which is why its frustrating as hell at times[Im still in semi-pro about to go pro haha])but it makes a goal so much more of an accomplishment.. more goals from deflections and "slop" rebound shots and it seems easier to beat the keep with headers... he cant snatch every close cross like in 04(cant be more realistic than that)... no more 10-0 victories because of 35 yard "krackas!" or the simplified crossing. Crosses are more realistic... no more inch-perfect ones like 04...you have to work to get em good... if you send a good one in, now theres something special. Career mode is awsome... its like FIFA + a fantasy footie game( more equivalence to recent Football game's career modes[You actually need to sub players from exhaustion unlike the past years the player were immortal, point systems for upgrades like different & better coaches, 15 season career! so up-and-coming players are sure as hell important]). Possesion and working Defenders is sort of easier and more fun with the new feature the "1st touch" likewise the off ball controls like double scissors and flicking the ball over your head over a defender actually work against the comp!(sometimes)! I'm yet to master the corners(and the rest of the game i guess), the runners seem to always get beat by the keeper so Ive only used the stationary near-post man. MAJOR FLAW... it isn't a big deal but gets annoying..of course.. the music..its always bad(except for the Flogging Molly song). All in all its worth the bucks, but if your a little sceptic, renting the game never hurts(Mind you, the game always seems better once you got the hang of it). Thats my view on it, I think I'm the most sensable review yet, but dont take my word for it, Expierience it yourself.

This game is great! At the start, you have a team that needs work. As you progress through, the team gets better and the player (you) gets better. There are certain things you must know to build a good team. First, you must spread your points evenly with the coaches. Coaches you should concentrate the most on are the striker, midfielder, goalie, fitness, and the medical staff. Sometimes you have trade offers. Sometimes the price tells you that he is good or bad. But sometimes it's just luck on who you buy. Before the game, if you see a red flag on a player's number, make sure you substitute him if you can. The graphics are good in the game, and so is the gameplay. Gameplay is intense, but when you are really good, it gets sort of boring. If you're even a small bit of a soccer fan, BUY THIS GAME!!!!

Could This Be The Game? By Harish A 11 Year Old,

INTRODUCTION
The Fifa Series has been going on year after year. Fifa 2003 was a solid game but 2004 fell down a little. But now EA are making Fifa 2005. EA claim that this is going to be the most realistic in the entire series. As soon as this game comes out everybody is going to compare it with one game:Pro Evo 4. Games always have a rival. Games always have a rival like Ratchet & Clank and Jak and Daxter. Fifa Or Pro Evo is the million dollar question. The Pro Evo series is famous for it's smooth flow. It is realistic and when you score a goal you feel you have achieved something. The Fifa series is well known for it amazing player models, realistic stadiums and crisp, clear animations. EA announce that the latest Fifa title will offer more than just graphics. NEW FEATURES Fifa 2005 will offer gamers a completely new feature that is called " First Touch Control" which allows you to move the ball in any direction as soon as the ball arrives to your feet. The new feature can be done by tapping the right anolog stick in the direction of your choice. There will be a brand new, in depth career mode where you control every aspect of your team. You control their training regime, their budgets and transfers and making important subtitutions. GRAPHICS As I mentioned earlier Fifa has some of the best graphics for any football game on any console. The graphics will be even more improved than 2004. The action is going to look how it should, the players are going to be even more realistic from head to toe. You know what to expect from FIFA. SOUND As in Fifa 2004 there will be a jukebox featuring raps and songs. Audio will certainly not disappoint but in a footy game who needs sound. CONCLUSION The Football Fusion mode will also be there. This allows players to manage and play with the same team in Fifa and in Total Club Manager. Whether this game beats Pro Evo remains to be seen. This game will be out in October. I hope you have found my review helpful. Thank you for taking your time to read my review. I appreciate it.

This game is okay. But, as some people said, it is easy to blow it during a game i.e. foul. But, for the visuals, it is perfect. It is better than the previous FIFA game. Overall, it is okay but with some improvements on it in the future games.

I have play EA sports FIFA games since the first one, and this is the best game of the series. The control of the ball and players are better than fifa 2004, also the First Touch Ball is the best thing in a soccer videogame, just take Ronaldinho of Barcelona and start dribling players; is worth the purchase of the game; you just wont beliave what you did, when watching the replay! I also own WE7 and I prefer to play this game, because this game really brings you all the atsmosfere of a soccer game. Of course, its not perfect, I would like a search engine for players in the transfer market, for example but the game is in the right direction.

This game is just another badly made game intended to rip you off. gameplay sucks, the only good side about this game is career mode, i'm only giving this game 2 stars because of career mode, but the most important part of the game sucks. the referee sucks : 50% of the times when it should be a corner kick the referee decides goes for a goal kick. when there's a foul just on the line you have to make it like 10 feet away from where it originally was. when you play in world class all the shots made by the computer are placed exactly in the corner of the goal, impossible for the goalkeeper to reach, so 90% of the shotsyou receive are goals. you can go through an entire match without receiving single shot and in the last minute what? a shot in the corner of the goal. c'mon that's not relistic. be thankful if you've got a playstation 2, because you can get Winning Eleven, which is a lot better than fifa. the only advantage for fifa is that has more licensed teams than WE, but that will be changing soon. and if you haven't got a PS2, get one or get the PC version of WE and don't waste your money in fifa, please. maybe that way EASPORTS will start making of fifa a decent game.
