Very Good but....,

First of all I must say this is a very good game indeed. I liked the Graphics and the fact that is a complete game the same I have on PC or XBOX.All teams all leagues full of options to play. I found the speed of the game very good as weel, there is a minor problem when the ball goes outbounds there is a small pause in gameplay but is not a huge concern. The players detail are also very good, better than my PC details I guess. My only complain about the game is a lack of cutomization in controls and I think is very difficult to hold the PSP and play weel at the same time, but maybe I have to pratice more or find another way to hold it. If you like soccer you have to buy.

This will probably be the best football/soccer game for the PSP for quite some time; FIFA has always put out great titles and the graphics is really good. Athough the animation is smooth, the problem comes from the slightly sluggish reaction time... while I understand the player physics used to good effect on consoles, it does not do well on the PSP's analog thumbpad making pivots (even more difficult given that touch/finesse moves uses the d-pad which is really hard to switch back and froth from the thumbpad), meeting and avoiding opposing players while keeping the ball difficult even on the semi-pro level.
There are a lot of options, though; from quick friendlies, half seasons, mini-game challenges, custom season and players along with a huge amount of players and teams make the game immediately accessible. I would give this three and half stars only because it's a fine game, not a breakout one. The controls just do not seem to have been optimized for the PSP... it is worth playing but I wouldn't put this in the same class as Ridge Racer and Wipeout.

I know that this isn't a perfect game, not by a longshot. The truth is, this is the best soccer game on a handheld I've ever played, and a ton of fun to boot. The amazing thing is how they've managed to pack a full console game's worth of options and features into a small, handheld game. Create-a-player? Check. Season mode? Check. The list goes on. There are some gripes, namely the stuttery animation when the ball goes out of bounds, or the sketchy controls (no secondary analog stick means... it's really hard to control the freestyle moves), but the truth is, it's still a blast to play.

This is a very impressive game, graphics wise, for a handheld. The stadiums look great and the players are recognizable. The details on the shirts are a little blurry, but thats just being picky. The controls on the other hand are a little frustrating. The game requires you to use the analog stick which, in my opinion doesn't work very well. Trying to perform quick turns and cuts is almost impossible and my passes tend to go to players other then who i intended it to. Freekicks are incredible, indentical to the console versions. The sound is not bad, if you can stand the weird songs from all the international no name bands. It even has a music video from one of the bands and something that looks like someone's half attempt at a music video made with a computer graphics program.
Overall the game is not bad, and being that I'm addicted to soccer in all forms and fashions, I give it a 4. Although i pray that there will be a Winning Eleven on the system, this is the best choice so far.

This is a good game but it is not the best one i have played. It has bad graphics and the game is very hard. It has some good music on it but most of it is annoying. It is fun but it takes forever to beat the game and after u beat it it is just like any other fifa games, u just do quick games. It is really annoying when the game freezes after the ball goes out or u score a goal. Sometimes it unfreezes but it takes like five miniutes to do so. This game is really old and was made before the psp even came out but it still has really bad graphics and game play. I would buy a newer one if i were u.

Probably the best soccer game out there for the psp,

This game is probably the best soccer game out for the psp for many reasons. First the graphics are good, the gamplay is good but might need a little touching up, the songs are FINALLY good after 3 years of horrible song selections, and the franshice mode is really good. They put you in a season with your team that you pick while they already played 15 games or so. So you can bring your favorite team back to life, or continue there hot streak. This game should be in your psp collection along with Burnout Legands, Atv Offroad Fury 3 and NBA Live 06.

While this game is lots of fun, you'll find some almost-unacceptable gameplay lags.
When you take a shot on goal, if you score, no lag. If it ends up deing deflected or shot out of bounds (which happens more than scoring, of course), there's about a 2-second lag while the game processes the out-of-bounds. Also, when pausing, there's about a 4 second lag before the pause screen appears. Sometimes *gasp* you have to press it twice to get the pause. Like I said, the game is enjoyable and I play it a lot, but these little lags make you feel like you're playing something that was rushed out of the door to make the PSP launch. I've heard the newer Fifa 06 for PSP fixes these little annoyances, but that's not firsthand knowledge.

This game is just an average game. The graphics are decent, gameplay is good, and load times are bad. The reaction time is poor, and there are some pauses that slow down the game (like when the ball goes out of bounds). There really aren't any special features, EA should have added mini games, franchise, and online play.
Buy it if you like Fifa, save your money if you don't.

Well, to start this review off, I just recieved my PSP two days ago. I bought this game yesterday and feel that it is a solid hit. Yes, the switching between the analong stick and d-pad is confusing at first, but you will get used to it after a little bit so that you can master moving and pulling off sweet tricks. Shooting is difficult at first but that you will also master with the 'joystick'. The challenge mode is lots of fun, and so is the season mode. I haven't tried the wifi mode yet, but so far on my other title, ATV offroad fury, it has performed well. Yes, the game takes some time to master, but it is pretty easy to pick up with the different difficulty settings. All in all, the game is really fun, but some aspects make take some time to get used to.
