Book Description

Former Delta operator Patrick Darwin leads Phalanx Security's best private security team, running protection details with Cal Wafer, former SEAL Team Six sniper, and Gabe Henderson, former Detroit SWAT assaulter. They're rotating out of Baghdad when VIP client Martin Lindy demands immediate protection along the Texas/Mexico border, where he and his crew are spending tax dollars building a virtual fence. Sounds like a paid vacation.

Then they run into Maro, a Cuban expatriate trained by the Soviets to kill Afghans. Now he's a mercenary working for the Luna Cartel, protecting drug shipments and dismembering troublemakers with his Russian entrenching shovel. On the hostile line in the sand between Texas and Mexico, Maro fights for money and the hell of it, using brutal guerrilla tactics to get what he wants. No way these new boys are going to stop him.

But he's never fought a crew like Darwin's before--Maro and his cartel lords better prepare for a level of professional warfare they have never seen.

Wow! I have read every Clancy, Thor, Flynn (insert big tome authors selling kindle books for $14.99) book and I must say that this book competes with the best from those authors. It is by far the best book I have read in 2012! The best way to convey to all you out there contemplating purchasing this book is "you know when you are watching a movie that is so good you don't want it to end? Well. . . About a quarter way through Find Fix Finish I found myself saying "I don't want this book to end."

...For those of us looking for a new author WE'VE FOUND HIM! Congratulations Mr. Brown on a kick a$% piece of work!

Gripping book with great writing. Brown's best yet.

This book had me from the start. Great opening scene that set the pace for the book. This well-written story is full of action, thrills, and camaraderie. It had me staying up until all hours of the night just to finish it. The writing has a way of making you laugh with the dialog but also making you sit on the edge of your seat to see what happens next. You are hooked at the end of every chapter. I attached to the characters quickly and could see them come to life with Brown's vivid display of human nature and interactions. I also love how Brown writes strong women who can kick just as much butt as the special forces main characters. Must read for any fiction lover. It has something for everyone. Makes me need to find a cool nickname but it never goes well if you pick one yourself (inside joke if you have read the book!).

About the Author

Having a great book to read makes me happy, and I try to provide that for you.

I have written seven books across multiple genres, and my day job is writing lore and story arcs for a very popular video game. I used to write technical validation documents in the basement of a pharmaceutical company--novels and video games are much more fun.

My wife and I have a rescue dog who collects mud and two cats who aren't impressed by anything we do. We bought a lawn tractor last year and took turns posing with it. That was a great day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Awesome April 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Do yourself a favor and buy this book. Whether you've read a book a day your whole life or you just learned how to read, you will enjoy this novel. It's action is thrilling and the jokes are solid, organic and plentiful. The story draws you in at the same time the characters jump out at you. I'm itchin' to quote some memorable lines but they're the best in context. Overall: action-packed, has heart, very funny.

The banter between the characters had me laughing out loud, putting me back in the locker room back in college! The action is very well written, not over the top in the least bit. For those of us looking for a new author WE'VE FOUND HIM! Congratulations Mr. Brown on a kick a$% piece of work!

4.0 out of 5 stars Realistic characters, except for the bad guy. March 28, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The plot was a bit simplistic: Drug cartel smugglers against professional security guards with an insane ex shining path shooter thrown into the mix. The three guard characters were very realistic! Their banter was exactly what it should be, and the author was able to show their loyalty and affection for each other. That "punch on the arm" sort of affection is real, and if you know someone like that, you understand what I mean. I wanted to know these guys. On the other hand, I thought the bad guy was a little too devious; If he'd been toned down a bit, I'd have gone for the fifth star.
One other point: The research into the weapons and equipment. All accurate and up to date. The writer either knows his gear, or does his homework. (It makes me nuts when I read how someone "pulls his musket out of his belt". That's when I stop reading.)

This book was ok. I am not sure if I would read another one by this author. I felt it was a little bit slow.

Action and adventure against the cartels on the Rio Grande with a great understanding of the weapons and tactics on both sides. Very well written, realistic and memorable characters and logical surprises as the action moves rapidly from one side of the border to the other. This is shaping up to what should be a great series. Looking forward to the next installment.
Well worth the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Authentic Page-Turner March 15, 2014
By Kat
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Mr. Brown can add a new devoted fan to his list. His main characters (former U.S. Special Ops) are tough but endearing, and the plot has plenty of action (and surprises) to keep the reader engrossed. There's nothing like a good old "U.S. kicking butts and taking names" yarn, especially in an America where patriotism and exceptionalism are not exactly in vogue. Well-done, Mr. Brown!

5.0 out of 5 stars Find, Fix Finish August 14, 2013

This book was very well done. The character stories were good and authenticity to locations and weapons was spot on. If you like thrillers, you will enjoy this one. In the same league as Brad Thor, The late Vince Flynn and Brad Taylor.
