This publication has been the most effective and results driven weight loss program I have ever tried! After gaining some unwanted pounds and trying all the no-carb, high protein, WW, paleo and other programs, I grew frustrated and defeated. Learned about Dr. Lori Shemek and DLS Healthworks and began the road to well being and optimal health. The program is easy to live by, and I never feel deprived. I have lost weight, feel so energized and look amazing! There are no tricks or easy way to lose weight, you need to do the work. This plan encourages nutritional balance which includes proteins, healthy fats, and 'good' carbs. I encourage anyone who is frustrated and wants to be healthy to read this. I've read a lot of books on weight loss, but, I'm really getting into these small Kindle books. My nephew got me an app on my computer and I've been devouring them like crazy. This one is superb. I feel like when I get a free book, I should read it and write a review about it immediately, because, well, they might need the promotion, or they were kind enough to give it a way, so, I don't have a testimonial to give, just an understanding of the books facts.

Now this book is a clear and concise work on ways to elevate your fat burning, through healthy fats like Omega-3, through use of fiber, and High Intensity Interval Training workouts. The book is written in short snippet chapters that give you a taste of information, and for people like us with weight problems, learning to only have a taste might be the first step to losing weight.

The book is well written and formatted, which, I guess is to be expected. It's got a lot of great advice that including an entire section on Weight Loss Supplements that I plan to look over once more. I believe the work is highly beneficial, definitely top of the line, and that you'll quickly learn a lot about weight loss.

I'm also going to recommend you check-out The Three Diets Solution: The Proven Methods For Fast and Sustainable Weight Loss this book is really great, it's a bit more information, and it says something that I've never heard talked about, and that is that the way you lose the weight doesn't have to be the way you keep the weight off. It goes through Low Cal, Low Carb, and Low fat diets, teaches you how to mix and match, and everything else. I think it would be a welcoming companion piece to this great book.

This book is quite practical for those of us who not only want to sheds some extra pounds but eat healthy as well. It is a very clear, concise approach to good nutrition, with some good scientific explanations relating to how the body functions. Her directives are quite clear with no wasted words, so do not be deceived by the length...It is quite comprehensive but void of unneeded words.

The regimin and menu recommendations are very doable with not too many restrictions. It is designed to be quite flexible to your individual situation.

Dr. Shemek is very accessible on FB and Twitter. She has has been very helpful on some questions I posed to her.I would highly recommend this book...Enjoy!

This book may be small compared to other books about health, but it is chock full of information. It is a very easy, straight forward read. I love that the author starts by reminding you that you control your activity level and what and how much goes in your mouth. You are in control of your health. I love the meal examples, the foods to eat list and the foods to avoid list. Great for planning your grocery shopping. Each chapter has tons of information that is easy to understand and easy to implement in your life. The author takes you through what to eat (and why), what types of exercises to do, and what types of supplements benefit your health (and specifies what each does for your body). This book is less than the price of a fancy drink from Starbucks, but worth ten times the price.

More About the Author

I have lived in many places: on the West Coast, the Midwest and now in Dallas, Texas with my husband and my sweet dog, Skye. My life is pretty nice nowadays, but it hasn't always been that way. Life has been a wonderful, amazing journey for me, one that has allowed me to learn and grow in many ways.

However, as a child, I grew up poor and struggled to even eat healthy. To say that living a healthy lifestyle was tough - is an understatement. My personal story is a childhood challenge that involved my mother's poor health choices.

I learned very early in life about the power of choice. My mother's choices created a sad quality of life for her. She was very overweight, she smoked heavily and much more. Most of the memories I have of my sweet mother are of her mostly not well..suffering from one illness or another.

I intuitively knew, even as a young child, that she could make other choices - healthier choices.

One day, I walked into her bedroom and there on her dresser stood a bottle of vitamins. I clearly remember the bottle - clear glass, with yellow and green labeling. I was so happy to see that bottle because I knew my mother finally got it! She once and for all was taking control of her health and her life. I just knew things were going to be better and my brother's and I would have our mother back. Every day I would check to see if she used the vitamins. Unfortunately, that bottle just stood there on the dresser - becoming a fixture, gathering dust. Sadly, my mother's choices led to her untimely death at the young age of 36.

Like so many others, my mother didn't feel as if she had choice in her life, nor did she feel she deserved it. Because of my experience with my mother, it has become my mission, my passion to help others know that there are other choices instead of the feeling that 'this is my lot in life.'
It gives me a tremendous sense of joy to see the success that my clients and readers have experienced. Now you know the deeper reason why I do what I do.

My experiences as a child led me on an inspired path to helping others and that involved receiving my Doctorate in Psychology and my Certification as a Nutritional Consultant and Life Coach.

These days you can find me as the Health Expert for the ABC show GOOD MORNING TEXAS, on the radio, writing, speaking and helping clients and others create weight loss success.

You deserve to have optimal health and to live in a leaner body. You do not deserve to be unhealthy and you do not deserve to be fat. You deserve to live the life you love.
