A piece of Junk distributed by a croocked and lousy company,

This review is from: FLAVORWAVE OVEN DELUXE
Many years ago, I had a convection oven. It did not use infra shmimfra red light, just a good old heating element and a powerful fan to move the air. It was a fantastic appliance, the family used it till its motor and thermostat literally disintegrated (about 10 years). We much mourned the old fellow.
Around that time these devices went out of style and I could not, for the lights of me, find a replacement. Last year I saw a TV add for the Flavorwave with all its electronic controls and infra red hoopladoo. I got excited, found it on Amazon and bought it. Too bad for me... This is nothing like what I used to have, the Infrared heater and the fan are just too wimpy to cook well, the electronic temperature control is a joke. The food does not cook evenly or often times at all. Food takes too long, comes unevenly undercooked, in short a total bust. The electronic module became erratic after about a dozen uses, it appears that it is not designed to withstand elevated temperatures for extended periods of time. The company refused to honor the warranty under the pretense that item was not purchased directly from them. When I insisted, they offered to sell me a new electronic module at a discounted price, I politely refused. Moral of the story, $100+ down the drain. On the positive side, the few times the electronic control does work, the infra red element produces a very powerful light, it looks neat... The food? Well forget about that !!!

Advantages of baking with speed of microwave,
This review is from: FLAVORWAVE OVEN DELUXE
One of the best uses for this device is for cooking snacks like pizza bites and other items typically advertised as microwaveable. Most of the time, things cooked in microwaves come out limp and soggy. With this item, these things cook just as fast as in a microwave plus they brown nicely.
In addition, it also does a great job cooking chicken and other larger items. Haven't tried anything as large as a turkey as they claim, but everything else seems to perform as advertised.

Pro's: heats quickly, easy to program, doesn't heat up kitchen, does salmon filet's and winter squash beautifully, automatically goes from cook mode to warm mode at end of programmed time, easy to experiment with because the food is very visible as it cooks, 100% DISHWASHER CLEANUP, 30-50% less cook time than regular oven.
Con's: Needs 15x20" counter space, including the area to tip the dome open to get to the food, won't fit inside my cabinets so it pretty much sits out all the time, very few recipes in the small book that comes with it.
