There's nothing negative I can say about it. I'd recommend this product to anyone that just purchased a video monitor....an absolute must!
I had my doubts about buying another articulating arm at this price, but the reviews on this one seemed pretty good, and they were right. This arm is just the opposite of the other one I had - nice smooth movement, works just the way it should. I highly recommend this one. Holds up my 7" monitor and battery with no issues whatsoever. My only advice to people is to make sure that you use a strong attachment point to your rig - I use a 1/4" attachment point that's joined across both rails so that it wouldn't rotate, with a little bit of threadlock to prevent it from loosening.

I just wrapped a feature film, using this arm for my SmallHD DP4-EVF and two more for the Chromo LED lights I just bought, and I have been consistently impressed. If you can get the arm tight enough, it will stay locked for quite a while. I could pick up my entire 5D rig (clocks in right at around 12-lbs.) and this arm would not move.
At some point I would love a Transvideo arm, but until I have the $150 I need for that, I can see myself using this arm consistently.
I use one to hold an iPhone on top of the Nikon D800 lens while it's running the Teleprompter+ app. Works like a charm. You'd swear the talent is looking right into the lens. The magic arm attaches securely to the camera's hot shoe and the other end holds a spring loaded iPhone holder normally used in a car. Some simple adapting and I have a super portable teleprompter that the talent can read from 6-7 feet indoors or out.

Okay for the price ... It had oil or something weird on it when I got it: It's pretty sturdy, though I'd suggest finding something better if you have money to spend.Published 5 months ago by sm500
The joint at the knob is ridged for extra friction, but the end joints seem to slip a little too easily. Read morePublished 14 months ago by K. Huffman
I paid the extra money for this unit, knowing full well that an apparatus of this type will work poorly or not at all if not made well. This unit is made well. Read morePublished 19 months ago by Victor
