Works with some adjustments,

The previous review mentions that the mount is a little loose, which is true.
The problem was corrected by using screws with a larger size head, the original ones are too small for the hole (will sink while being adjusted). Using a washer may reduce the screw depth. The nut need to be grinded approximately 0.050" (make sure is grinded on the side that attaches to the screw). This will allow to compress the rails against the receiver, original dimensions don't compress the rail at all.

A Little Loose, but OK.,

Only gave this three stars because it's a little loose and the so called adjustment screws are worthless (didn't tighten enough or stay tightened). Gun still functions w/ no problem. It holds the optics with no problem and able to maintain great results with the scope I added. Only real problem is the looseness. It tends to make a little noise. Not good for tactical situations where you need silence.

Had no problem with installing the mount and tightening the screws. Scope mounted with no trouble once lining up the rings properly to the notches in the mount. Good for the price.

A great scope mount for an airsoft rifle, not a FAL.,

The scope mount installed with only a little fitting, seemed snug and looked great(hence the one star) - then I went to the firing range. By the time I had put 100 rounds through the rifle, the mount was basically unusable. I had to put the old action cover back on and use iron sights - not one of the FAL's strengths. The two rear "tightening" screws which I tightened down per the instruction upon installation, came loose and the nuts (called clamps by the folks at Sun Optics) fell off inside the lower receiver. After bringing the rifle home, cleaning everything up, reinstalling the clamps, applying a liberal amount of lock tight and torquing the screws down, the scope still shakes like Barney Fife staring down a grizzly bear. Now it's pretty much a $50 paperweight.
Overall, I've had good luck with Sun Optic's products in the past, so I'm not recommending avoiding their products across the board - just their FAL scope mount. I hate writing bad reviews, sorry Sun, but this one needs to go back to the drawing board.

The only reson im not giving 5 stars to this item is because the front of the dust cover that meets the end of my fal where u chaber the round, there is a gap that lets u see inside the gun. This problem is solved by shaving a little off the dust cover, I didnt do that beacuse it will ruin the matte black finish on the dust cover. this doesnt make any technical problems when shooting the gun. the dust cover does what is supposed to do and looks great on my FN FAL I would recomen this to any 1 trying to modernise their FN FAL( note: i just rememberd that the dust cover came with screws to add on extra hold on the dust cover as well....but these screws are made from steel and when i got the screws and looked at them ........they were rusted. I kinda got pissed at that but nothing some rust remover cant fix. Aside from all that great item...........from my experience with the item.....I would still buy it again and recomen it to my friends

scope mount no problem,

I have a STG 58 the mount works good , mine was tight had to drive it on with a brass hammer I built this out off a gun kit it funtions perfect , mount would be tight if it did not have screws , heck my dist cover is tight too . no I have not shot a 100 rounds in her yet my screws did not sink in if they come loose I would put good old super glue on threads it works better than lock tight for me. I have had the best mounts made by arms ,but this one did not have a crack that you could see down into the firearm . maybe when I blew dust cover off one time it made my rifle tighter . yes I did, I was used to building L1a1's and it uses a washer , mine does not and head space got off enough to blow clip off and dust cover too. I quess you can say I did a proof myself. mount is great so far. thanks mike .
