The other day, I bought two CDs for my 1 year old. The first was by the Wiggles. The second one was this CD (Folk Playground). Thank goodness I bought the second one. Now I can play accessible and fun music for my daughter and stay sane at the same time! The lyrics are playful and witty, with some artists adding some twists to some old favorites (Victor Johnson - "This Old Man", Laurie Berkner - "Froggie Went a-Courtin'"). The music is mature, pleasant, and of course, folksy. The Zoe Lewis tune, "Sheep" is worthy of special mention...a pure delight. But there's not a single clunker on this CD...for the kids or the parents. Are there any more like this out there?

High quality productions, accomplished artists, fun songs! My grandchildren and I are thoroughly enjoying this CD.

My 17 month old son and I both love this album! His favorites include Got No Strings (which he recognizes as the "cuckoo" song), his buddy Dan Zanes with Hop Up Ladies, and the Crawdad song. Mommy's favorite is the Sheep song, which she keeps finding herself humming (and, all right, dancing to) at work! After heavy rotation in the car, it still hasn't shown its wear, and has opened us up to many wonderful new artists. This is a winner!

my daughters loved all the songs on this, (especially the great sheep song), we went out and bought it for a nephew after her heard ours and he loved it too. We always sing along in the car!!! Michelle Shocked has always been an adult favorite, and her "got no strings" hooked my girls, made us look for the entire childrens album she made.

Who says that all children's music is annoying? This fabulous album has music firmly set in the folk tradition that's enjoyable for both children and adults alike. My 13-month-old son and I both love singing and dancing to this album. It's catchy and lively, but also pleasant and enjoyable. Putumayo has come out with some wonderful children's albums, but this is my favorite.

One of the things I particularly enjoy about this album is how many of the songs encourage creativity and love of life. "Just Kidding" explores the joys of being a child -- whether in actuality or just at heart. "It's All How You Look at It" is about children playing pretend -- making a palace out of a cardboard box, or a rock band out of pots and pans. Justin Roberts' fantastic "Roller in the Coaster" encourages children to face their fears and live life to the fullest -- replete with "rain boots, snow suits, big hills, and puddles, and lots of cuddles."

Featuring fantastic folk musicians such as Elizabeth Mitchell and Victor Johnson, this album is a must have for any family with kids.

We love this CD in our home. The songs are adorable and silly. We are big fans of Putumayo CDs, and have quite a collection.

Admittedly, I have a weakness for folk music, but this is just all around stellar!!! My four year old and I listen to it all the time and I have been guilty of listening to it even when he is not on in the car. The songs are both clever and sweet, original and classic. There are rockin' kazoo and piano solos, and hummin' bass lines and guitar riffs. This is quality music that everyone in the family will enjoy!

My daughter is 9 months old and she started smiling and dancing when I first I played this CD for her. Many plays later - she still loves it and so do I.

This is such an adorable selection of music. We first heard it at an amusement park in California and just loved it. The music is mellow but my 4 and 1 year old just love it!

This is our absolute favorite kids music CD. All the songs are first rate and lots of fun! This is an absolute must-have for any kids music collection. LOVE it!!
