Good tool for teachers,
This review is from: FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER'S GUIDE TO ACTIVE LEARNING (Paperback)
I am a first year Spanish teacher in an alternative certification program and purchased this book looking for ideas. There is so much in this book that it was overwhelming. There are literally chapters and chapters full of things I have been able to use in my classroom, as well as some useful theoretical information that backs up the more practical suggestions. It doesn't get 5 stars because culture is relegated to a single short chapter and is largely reduced to heros and holidays. There is also not much information about modification for and accomodation of special needs. But, overall, I highly recommend this to new foreign language teachers.

This book is very good especially if you have been searching for resource materials specifically for Foreign Language Teachers. I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase as the book provides ideas for incorporating strategies and activities based on multiple intelligences and aspects of brain research. I bought this with another one of Blaz's books "Differentiated Instruction - A guide for Foreign Language Teachers" which is my absolute favourite. Try them both and you will not regret it. Your classes will be more student-centered and your students will relish learning.

Active Learning in the Foreign Language Classroom,
This review is from: FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER'S GUIDE TO ACTIVE LEARNING (Paperback)
This book is an excellent tool for foreign language teachers looking to make the learning process an active one. From providing topic specific suggestions to activities that work for almost any topic, there are plenty of ideas you can begin to implement into your classroom right away.

The book came in great condition, pretty sure its brand new. However, it was published in 1999. One of the first points it makes, on the first page, is to always use current material when teaching in the classroom. So, I feel weird continuing to use it's information, but the information it does contain is wonderful. It is a great book and the reviews do it justice. Just know, that it is old material.

Good book,
This review is from: FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER'S GUIDE TO ACTIVE LEARNING (Paperback)
I bought this book hoping to learn about teaching methods for a foreign language class. This book didn't do that. However, it still has some good ideas and the web site references it offers are excellent.
