Fits all sizes of cups or mugs.

This is a very well made tea infuser, very strong mesh, though it is fine enough trap the tea dust that can leave a brew a bit cloudy.

I'm using this for all of the loose teas I have and it's working perfectly.

This is a very well made tea infuser, very strong mesh, though it is fine enough trap the tea dust that can leave a brew a bit cloudy. But the mesh and frame parts are very well put together, much stronger than it looks as pictured.

I drink mostly black teas but used this infuser to steep a white peony and it was the most amazing cup I've had to date; Organic White Peony Loose Leaf Tea + FREE Bamboo Tea Strainer Clean up was easy and what I really noticed is the tea not only tastes better but brews much faster than with a ball.

It also comes with a little ceramic saucer to set the infuser on but I use it as lid as well.

UPDATE: 2 years later, still going strong, no rust!

Original Review:

I ordered 3 FORLIFE infusers to start replacing my trusty Finum brewing basket.

This one seems like it would work best for the most kinds of mugs/teapots because of how it would rest on many size openings... I like the little porcelain dish a lot...

The mesh is really fine, this is really a lovely piece. This is s smaller overall unit compared with the FORLIFE one with silicone lid but you should be able to get a strong brew going. I've been going with Davidson's organic green tea line.

I love my Finum brewing basket but it has plastic on it.... made in Germany (I think), they said it's BPA-free (the Euros seem to be better at regulating this kind of stuff) but it's still plastic that sits in hot water.... so I wanted something all-metal.

FORLIFE says these are made lead-free and won't rust, etc but since they're made in China... I mean, don't get me wrong, I've gotten plenty of quality products made in China in the past -- we all have -- it's just that I can't test the lead-free and rust I'll have to wait-and-see. I love this thing so I really hope it lasts!

Still, I'm happy to recommend this if you're looking for an all-metal infuser... it's really the next level!

I have this tea infuser, and absolutely love it. I was actually thinking just the other day that it was so much nicer than my other infusers, because it reached deeper into my mug and I didn't have to fill the mug to the top with water to be able to soak my tea leaves. I was also just marveling to myself and now apparently online, (LOL) that my leaves had so much room to expand. I was even contemplating perhaps not needing so much tea per mug because it really expands so much (at least in the case of sencha). Another one of my favorite things about this infuser is that when brewing roobois and other fine leaved teas, you don't end up with all that rooibos dust in the mug too. It really contains it well with it's laser drilled holes. And lastly on my love for this particular infuser, is that it really seems to be very durable over the long haul. My other ones with their mesh sides get banged up over time and fall apart, while I do believe that this one is "for life", I always thought that was funny, but now I think it is true.

I realize using this infuser for coffee is not the norm but it works well. I have been looking for an easier-to-clean, inexpensive, simpler and quicker version of a french press and after reading the reviews on this infuser I bought one. Works well with coffee ground for a french press. It does leave a bit of sediment but so did the press. Very happy with this purchase, thinking of getting another one.

= Material - stainless should last a near lifetime and you won't have to re-buy
= Fit - Fits mugs and pots, can go from 6 oz up to perhaps 50 oz, that's flexibility
= Style - with no plastic/rubber colored bits, it won't be an "unfashionable color"
= Utility - its micro holes strain, it doesn't try to be artistic, it does it's job perfectly, the bit of tea dust that makes it through doesn't bother me
= Usability - no screw cap, clips, or tabs to keep it closed (like tea ball). While it's still hot you can dump the leaves out (unlike a hot tea ball burning fingers to open) which prevents any of them being forgotten and drying in place
= Arthritis/Dexterity - If you have dexterity/arthritis troubles, the wide mouth is easier than any tea ball to use

Doubles as kitchen strainer for other things. I suppose you could also make a single cup of coffee, an herb infusion for cooking, strain cooking oil, or strain juice of a lime to get seeds/pulp too.

This little tea infuser is my favorite, and I have many (I'm an eternal optimist). It is easy to use, fits any size cup, is easy to clean, and has plenty of room for the tea leaves to expand (unlike any tea ball I've ever found). It is wonderful to be able to make one cup of really good tea when you want it. You can use your best loose tea, preheat your mug, cover the infuser with its little dish while your tea is steeping, and there you are: perfect tea, no not-quite-good-enough tea bags, with very nearly the convenience of bags. You can use it to re-brew your elegant oolongs, as you would for gong-fu style tea. And it's ecologically sound too -- use the spent leaves to mulch your house-plants, wash the infuser and its dish, nothing goes into the landfill. And it won't break, either; always a recommendation in my house. Could it be prettier? well, probably. But if "Form follows function" describes the best design, then it is perfect. I have one, and I've been searching for another (to give to my tea-loving brother). Yay Amazon, at last I've found one.
