Good book to learn the basics of Fortran 77,

This review is from: FORTRAN 77 and Numerical Methods for Engineers and Scientists (Textbook Binding)
Fortran 77 is old, but there is a lot of legacy code out there. Since Fortran is backwards compatible (i.e. F77 code will compile on a F90 compiler) and there are a number of freely available F77 compilers available (the GNU compiler and GFORTRAN), F77 will always be a valid (and used) programming language, even if newer features of Fortran improve the language. If you need a reference book for F77, I recommend getting one of the Nyhoff and Leestma books.
