Product Description

They have discovered the secret to the Fountain of Youth, but at a terrible price! In this hard-hitting work of fiction, Stephanie Lynn Ramsey, often with harsh language and shocking scenes, takes an unflinchingly critical look at modern society's obsession with youth. The rich and famous will do anything to stay young and beautiful. Anything...even if their quest leads them to commit the most unspeakable acts! A handsome young senator is found dead in the beach house of a stunningly beautiful singing star. He has strangled on his food and aged unexplainably. Desperately scrawled in a nearby tray of lasagna is the word FOUNTAIN. Why? Suddenly, something has gone terribly wrong and, one by one, all the beautiful people who had been able to stave off their aging process begin to die.

4.0 out of 5 stars Chilling thriller, April 16, 2009

A page-turner with a somewhat gruesome plot, in which a group of well-to-do and famous people start dying in a horrific manner after taking part in a secret rejuvenation program. The book ends much too abruptly, and there are some editing errors, such as missing words, in the Kindle version I read, but all in all it was an addictive, can't-put-it-down thriller. Recommended!

Wow! You don't see this coming. You think this book will be the typical semi-mystery and Wham! it's hits you when you least expect it. I enjoyed reading something different in the thriller world of books.

3.0 out of 5 stars I suggest they make a movie out of it. It would be better., May 5, 2010

This could have been a great read. It was an excellent idea for a story. They should turn it into a movie. For that reason alone, it was worth the read.

The problem with it was that it was very poorly executed. The characters that were developed decently were only in the book in small spots, and those that turned out to be main characters were so thinly attributed that they could have been anyone. I actually started imagining them being played by my own choice of cast just to try and give them some substance that I could relate to.

In some spots, the dialog was terrible. There was one specific paragraph where a character was speaking and I actually thought to myself, "Wow, nobody would actually say that out loud." After reading it again, I realized that what probably happened was that the paragraph had been hastily rewritten and forgotten. Who ever edited this book didn't deserve what they got paid.

I would have given this book a lower rating on that alone, but I want to say again that the storyline itself is great. Very imaginative, and even if it was written so simply and carelessly, pages did still turn right up until the end. I have certainly read many books that were worse and I don't feel like I'm out $10 for picking it up.
