This is a great light. For a full review see Nutnfancy's viedo [...]

In my opinion, this is the best EDC light on the market. It is compact enough to fit unnoticed in my back pocket, and as powerful as I could wish. I really like the multiple settings. It's great to have a bright light, but sometimes I need just a little bit, and the low setting perfect for that. The switch is very good, nice and light, but metal capped, so there is no rubber end to wear out. This is a very good product.

I had and constantly used a quark AA2 tactical, which is larger than this pen-style light - still ok to carry, but is now more of a bedside table light.

This preon 2 is perfect for EDC. the price is great, the output is awesome. (it's not really 192 lumens. it's more around 166). I love the pocket clip, etc. it also has all the modes you'd want in a light (low, medium, high, strobe, beacon, etc.). it took about 5 minutes of playing around with it before I could toggle through all the modes effortlessly. it's a very user-friendly light.

Downsides: it's a bit long. It's not a huge issue, but if it were maybe half the length, it would be the best light imo for EDC. "then get the preon 1." Believe me, i thought about getting the preon 1 - the downside to the preon 1 is that it's on/off function is a twist - two handed operation. I prefer the tailcap actuation of the preon 2. It's a true one-handed light. I can deal with the length. Another knock I have on it is that it will always turn on in low mode. The quark AA2 tactical allowed you to set the emission levels to whatever you wanted. I always went with high and strobe - again, bedside light. Also, this is a very fixable problem, but the little tailcap button has a hard-cover on it - probably to preserve the rubber of the actual button. this rattles around a bit when the light moves too.

Overall, it's a great EDC light, and I believe it's the best in it's class. Definitely blows the streamlight out of the water in terms of user interface, fit and finish, versatility, and output. Definitely a win.

For light brightness, this little guy is awesome, and I guess it's waterproof too, AND it uses AAA batteries, plus plus plus. Body is sleek and a little grippy, plus plus. Great all around lite right? NOPE. The tail switch SUCKS and I do mean sucks. It is so easy to turn on, and so quite that i already burned through two sets of Energizer lithium's for this bad boy. AND here's the kicker. I wear (wore) it in my front uniform shirt pocket (left hand), and after the umpteenth time one of my partners told me "your lights on" AND the last time was in a dark abandoned house (glad I wear armor), that's the last time I will carry it. Lack of light discipline can and will kill you as quick (and sometimes faster) than noise discipline. So as much as I want to love this light (thanks Nutnfancy, I bought it cuz of you) I absolutely cannot recommend this light. I'm back to my Steamlight Stylus Pro. Too bad. if I could get that switch fixed somehow I would absolutely say this was a great light. But I am far from the only person who has complained about this light's tail switch. I believe if you put a stronger spring (maybe twice the strength) this would be an instant 5 star light. thanks for reading! Good luck.

First the good points.
This flashlight is very well made. I love the lowest setting for map reading. The other setting are nice too.
However, the Beam is too wide and not pinpoint enough. I compare it to my streamlight stylus, which is half the cost, and appears to be just as bright even when compared to the four seven's highest setting, which would only last 1 hour compared to the streamlight lasting 6 hours.
I really wanted to like this flashlight more than my streamlight, but sorry I can't. I even called four sevens office and suggested making another model for those who wanted a more pinpoint beam, but they didnt seem interested on the idea.
I guess I will wait for technology to advance a bit more before replacing my streamlight.

The flashlight is very bright and reliable, with a long battery life (I am using lithium ultimates).
I use mine at work, the low setting is great for looking into poorly lit electrical panels, the med is good for a general flashlight, and the high is like a small spotlight.
I have dropped mine onto hard concrete twice or more, it marred the finish but didn't "break" the light.
It is small enough to keep in your shirt pocket along side a pen, it's how I carry mine at work.

On the button issue, if you are having issues with your on/off button being unreliable then try loosening the ring that holds the metal button cover on. I have two of these flashlights and if you have it screwed on too tightly then it will be semi-unreliable. I loosened the ring a little bit and it fixed the issue on both flashlights.

I ordered this light mainly to use for crawling under desks and cracking PC's open, but also to have a reliable light on me at all times. I have only owned one 4Sevens product before (Quark Mini123), and thought it was incredibly well built, so I figured that it would be a safe bet buying from them again.

Turns out, I made the right call! This little light does NOT disappoint. It is solidly constructed and has a gorgeous texture. Every exposed part (minus the lense) is aluminum. The light is waterproof up to 12 feet for 24 hours, and has done very well when I dunked it. It can be activated by clicking the aluminum button (covering a rubber button)on the back, or by twisting the front portion (only if the back button has been switched to the 'on' position). The light has three brightness modes, which I believe to be 2.2 lumens (low), 22 lumens (medium) and 192 lumens (high). It also has some very well tucked away special modes (strobe, beacon-high and beacon-low). The light does have a very nice color to it, very much a cool white. It's very pleasant on the eyes. It projects a fairly solid beam, while also illuminating around the center of the beam quite well.

Okay, I have read a lot of reviews stating that the max output really is 160 lumens, because that is what the box said. Mine said that too, and I was slightly disappointed, so I ended up emailing 4Sevens about it. Here is their exact response:

"Thank you for contacting us. You received the second generation light with more lumens. We are sorry that information has not been updated on the packaging, but it will have Gen2 on the box. Let us know if we may be of further assistance.
