Great for Riding,
By Nicholas Winn "E-Bike Enthusiast" (CA, USA) - See all my reviews It may seem like overkill but a fall at 30mph on your knees would not be pretty plus the hard plastic could protect the knee joint in an accident. I pedal the whole time I'm riding and after a week don't even notice I have them on. My pant length is 30. My legs are definitely thick, I'm a big guy. Initially, I almost sent these back. They were way to tight. They didn't ride up on top of my knee and were very uncomfortable. I figured, give them a chance they might stretch or I might have a tailor add longer straps. Well it's been around a week and they fit perfectly. The straps have stretched and the unit has molded to my knees staying exactly where they should be without mussing or adjusting. They are perfect for me. The quick release is great, no fumbling with adjusting straps. In and out in a few seconds. I don't do off road, or motor cross, just a bike commuter looking for some extra protection. So I can't comment on these for that use. I can say that under normal commuting the quick release has never been sprung but can't comment under rough conditions. These definitely are 1 size fits all. They have room to adjust tighter for thinner legs and probably would stretch further for someone heavier than me. Give them some time to break in though.

Your search for knee pads that are long enough to also protect your shins are over, they are so comfortable I forget I have them on! Great ventilation and the cross straps keep them in place. I'm 6'1 and over 200lbs so I ordered the large/x-large and the fit is right on! The first thing you want to do is to open the straps by using the "LIFT TO OPEN" tab, be sure to open all of them, put them on by crossing the straps behind your knees and locking the tabs in place then secure the bottoms straps around the lower shins, and you're set to ride! Just buy them; you'll love them too.

Sizing is tricky,

I really like these pads. Last year, I lost a set that I've had several years. The things I like about them is that they're quick to get on and off, have plenty of adjustments. When you see them all full of gouges and scratches, you think how glad you are to be wearing these. I wear them only for downhill and occassionally at a park, but they would be too restricting for cross country.
Anyway, I found the sizing difficult to understand, even after writing to Fox. As 5'9" male with average proportions, I bought the L/XL. If they were any longer, they would be too long. As it is, I have hard shell coverage to my ankle and the heavy fabric all the way to my foot. 2115|R5ALEKSAJBBGH;2115|R2ELGEZOR22L9A;2115|R3GGQOLIGCMGXS;
