This review is from: FPS Pearl Portable Cinema M3 Pocket Projector
I've done some research before I purchased the Pearl M3. My final desition was made after comparison with Optoma 101, AAXA P1, and 3M MPRO120.Pros: 1, wide screen (16:9), all the others have a 4:3 2, long battery life (finish a movie (1hr43min) on it). Since there were a lot complaints about the battery life on the other 3 projectors. I paid a lot attention and find out 2500mAh is the highest. The other three has either 1100mAh or 1700mAh... 3, 2G on board flash memory + microSD card reader. Play movie smoothly on the internal hard drive. I also use it for data storage. 4, Project with my Iphone 3GS. (extra cost on cable from Apple) 4, Japanese langague supported. 5, free & fast shipping Surprise: 1, internal speaker. The product description didn't mention it has a speaker. But it do has one!! 2, free tripod (which also didn't mention in the product description). VERY NICE! I used it to project the movie on my roof. Plus, my SONY T77 can use it too. Cons: 1, I need to manual focus every time. (Then I found out all the others also need manual focus, so, not really a con. But definitely need to be improved) 2, It says compatible with iphone. But it didn't mention that I need purchase extra cable (cost me 50 in Apple store). The brightness is an issue. 12 lumens need a medium dark environment; or for best effect, it need a complete darkness (like the environment you watch movie in the cinema). For business use, a minimum 100+ lumens' brigtness is recommended. So far, only DELL M109S can reach the standard. But the DELL M109S is DLP projector, you need pay extra money for bulb after thousands hours' usage. That's another story. All in all, I am happy with my purchase. It's the best value for me.

FPS Pearl,
This review is from: FPS Pearl Portable Cinema M3 Pocket Projector
I got this product a few months ago and I really enjoy the versatility of the projector, great for small events and groups. The shipping was surprisingly fast and the customer service was excellent. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a well versed projector with great features. Oh yeah the battery life is great compared to most portable devices.

I was returning my wowwee projector (I purchased the wowwee projector because of 5-star reviews and later I found out those review were fake. Yes, fake review!!! I hate that) for this one and I am very happy now. There is a HUGE update. The FPS is vividly designed, has a small but powerful speaker. And most importantly, I can project without connecting to any other devices. I mean, the little gadget can play movies, music, pictures and text directly from the inside hard drive, which is extremely impressive and convenient. Most of the time I use the projector to play video or show pictures to my client. To show pictures, I just need to copy the picture files from my computer to the FPS hard drive. To play video, I was suggested first to use the converter software (which is included in the package) to transfer my files to the favorable video files, then paste to the projector hard drive. I was a little worried when one of the reviewer said that the projector had problems playing video. But after doing several trials myself, everything is working fine. One last thing is the most important, great price!

I was thinking it will works like a normal projector, but not. I have to copy anathing I want project it's not good for working, when I use powerpoint I need to manage my presentation. I cannot with. They show a men projecting something with his computer online but how can we do that? the user manual does not explain. But I'm confess, it is pretty and I can cary it everywhere and I don't need a computer to project films or videos.

Don't buy this..,
This review is from: FPS Pearl Portable Cinema M3 Pocket Projector
In the photo this projector looks nice, specs look good, but it's made of cheap plastic, very unprofessional finish, and worst of all, it crashes too much when you play internal videos (if you think you can copy a DivX or Xvid and use this as personal cinema you won't be able to see the whole movie, it will crash after 2 or 3 minutes)If you use it only as a projector maybe it would work for you, but I would strongly recommend a projector from a better known brand, I won't buy again anything from FPS. |
