...according to the packaging. A bit pricey, but worth it compared to some of the cheaper loop filler packages I have picked up in craft stores, which contains some loops that were too small and a few that were too big, some that were stained or mis-dyed, and even some loops made out of nylon instead of cotton or wool (and thus not good for use near heat). In comparison, these loops are all new material and sized for a potholder loom. They are standardized in size and thickness and color. The bag had a mix of colors, although it didn't contain all colors. The colors I've put in potholders I've washed so far didn't bleed much. Some of the loops did have dangling strings, which you may want to cut off after weaving the potholder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wool Potholder Loops, October 5, 2008

I love all the different colors and the fact that all the loops are useable and fire-resistant! They certainly put the jersey loops to shame and are worth the added cost. I sat outside while making these and it reminded me of being a kid again :) I decided I wasn't going to make any specific pattern and picked one loop at a time out of the bag without looking to make my potholders and was delighted to find after making two that I had enough loops leftover to make another one!

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful for little fingers, November 16, 2009

I grew up making these colorful pot holders. A few weeks ago, my three year old granddaughter asked to learn to knit so she could make a "rainbow" sweater. Since I think her little fingers might frustrate a future love of knitting, i thought we might start with potholders. I ordered a loom and these wonderful, wool loops. Any of you who grew up doing this craft knows how frustrating cotton loops can be trying to stretch them from side to side. My little granddaughter--who just turned three--can easily stretch these up, line them side by side on the loom and then help me with the weaving part. And, of course, the wool will be safer to use as a potholder than cotton or acrylic. Now, my granddaughter can experience gift giving from the donor side this Christmas. She is very excited.
