FRS Healthy Energy Ready-to-Drink Cans offer a thirst-quenching alternative to highly caffeinated drinks. These grab-and-go cans provide 325mg of quercetin -- a powerful antioxidant found in fruits and vegetables.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF ENERGY
FRS's revolutionary blend of nutrients extends your body's natural energy, fueling you up when you need it while supporting your health over the long haul. There's no jittery feeling or roller-coaster ride - just prolonged energy that helps keep you focused and fully charged.

That energy comes from our secret weapon, quercetin, an antioxidant found in foods like blueberries, apples and grapes. Its incredible ability to enhance your body's energy system is what keeps you feeling energized longer. Add a host of essential vitamins and you're ready to tackle anything from minor workouts to a major marathon.

A single 11.5-ounce serving of FRS contains a healthy amount of quercetin, but one you'd have a hard time getting on your own; that is, unless you have a tendency to eat 40 apples in a single sitting.

HOW TO USE FRS HEALTHY ENERGY
For best results, take 2-3 servings per day. One in the morning, one in the afternoon and whenever you need extra energy. Athletes take 30 minutes before exercise.
THE SCIENCE OF QUERCETIN
Endurance and VO2max Study:
Davis, Carlstedt et al. 2009
An independent, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over study showed that when 12 healthy, active (but not highly trained) men and women consumed 500 mg of quercetin (QU995™) in an enriched drink mix twice daily for 7 days, they experienced a 13.2 % increase in endurance and a 3.9 % increase in VO2max (a typical measure of fitness). The study has been published online in the International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism.

Sports Performance Study:
MacRae, H. and Mefferd, K. 2006
An independent, double-blind, placebo - controlled crossover study on the effect of FRS on cycling performance in eleven elite cyclists was completed at Pepperdine University and published in the International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism. The results were dramatic: a 3.1% increase in performance--one minute and 31 seconds improvement in time to complete a 30km simulated mountainous time trial.

Immune System Study:
Neiman, David, Henson, DA, et al. 2007
A clinical study, funded in part by the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) showed the antioxidant quercetin significantly reduced incidence of upper respiratory tract illness during the two week period following intensified exercise. Researchers also reported enhanced alertness and reaction time in athletes taking the quercetin supplement during high stress. Forty test subjects were subjected to extreme physical stress during a five week period. Half were given 1,000 mg of quercetin daily (the approximate amount in 3 servings of FRS) and half were given a placebo. Results showed:

Work Performance Study:
Durak, E. and Bell, M. May 2005
During a six-week study, university employees were asked to perform their daily jobs, which required physical exertion, lifting, repetitive movements and attention to detail. At the end of the study, subjects experienced improvements in various measures of work performance, as measured in a Work Productivity Assessment Index survey.

I don't know what is in this stuff to make it smell and taste so bad but wow, this was the worst energy drink I've ever tried.

I have tried several energy drinks and this product is at the top of my list. Many others contain lots of sugar and caffeine but FRS works in a different way with quercetin, vitamins and only 25 calories. I usually will drink 1 can at mid morning to get a renewed lift. It's not going to be so noticeable like a caffeine buzz or sugar high but the day goes by better with it than without. I must say that Amazon seems to be the best place to buy FRS and save money.

Flavor Name: Citrus Pomegranate
I've been drinking FRS for several months as part of my P90X and half-marathon training regiment. I first tried the original Orange and was not a fan. Then I tried the low cal versions and they are much better. I like each flavor but would rank them in the following order based on my preference: Low Cal Wild Berry, Low Cal Citrus Pomegranate, Low Cal Orange, Low Cal Peach Mango, Low Cal Apricot Nectarine, Orange.

As other reviewers have stated, I like the boost I get from FRS and it is much healthier than alternative energy drinks. I enjoy the taste so much that I have completely cut soda from my diet and look forward to FRS as my sweet treat.

All of my experience with All-Star Health has been great. I order Promax Energy Bars from them regularly and their customer service and shipping have always been top notch. I would have no problem ordering the 24 pack of FRS cans from them as they are the best price I've seen online. However, check your local grocer first. The grocery store by me often has FRS cans on sale for $1 per can, that's $1.79 off their regular price ($2.79/can). If you do the math you'll see that buying 24 cans at $1 is still dramatically cheaper than the price you'll find on Amazon or elsewhere.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this product really does sustain your energy over about 4-5 hours. When I drink one, in only 10 minutes I am much more focused and able to get through the afternoon "blahs." I really did my homework before I committed to a case of a product I had never tried. I was sold on the quercetin - potentially cancer-preventive benefits (too soon to tell, per the American Cancer Society), but at least this antioxidant is recognized as having potential. I also like that it is non-carbonated and does not have taurine, and the sugar used in the drink is organic. The taste is okay, but if it is cold and you drink it fast, it's a non issue.

Flavor Name: Orange
This is regarding the regular Orange FRS canned drink.

It seems every time I finally find an energy drink that fits my requirements (no high fructose corn syrup, no carbonation, tastes good) they stop making it. I'm down to my last case of GURU JUICY ORANGE which fit all three of my requirements very nicely so I have to find something new to replace it.

the Orange FHS looked promising. Organic. No carbonation. Orange flavor. It had potential for being a replacement for the GUR JUICY that I really enjoyed.

But I couldn't drink this stuff. The smell alone was horrible. I mean awful. Like cat food or tuna fish awful, certainly not a smell you want coming from a can of something that is supposed to be ORANGE. Foul. Just wrong.

I couldn't drink even half the can, I dumped it down the drain and then had to rinse the can a couple of times to get the smell to go away. I'm so glad I didn't invest in an entire case of this stuff. It has everything I want in an energy drink except it is undrinkable. I don't know what is in this stuff to make it smell and taste so bad but wow, this was the worst energy drink I've ever tried.

Make note when you are reading the other reviews - quite a few mention that they like the energy it gives them and just to ignore the taste. That should clue you in right there that this isn't winning points in the "Tastes great" department. Pick up a can at your local Whole Foods and give it a try before investing in a case of this product - just to make sure you know what you are getting yourself into.

How on earth are people drinking this stuff? It boggles my mind.

Flavor Name: Apricot Nectarine
Regular energy drinks make me jittery and sick even after just a few sips. I can't drink them because of this. This drink just makes me feel awake, and that is what I am looking for.

I drink this in the afternoon, at work, after lunch, which is when I'm hit with the afternoon blahs. It makes me feel awake, but not hyper. The Apricot Nectarine has 90 calories in it and it contains only 48mg of caffeine which according to FRS is approx. 1/2 cup of coffee. I like that, because it isn't an insane dose of caffeine. Large doses of caffeine make my heart race, and this drink doesn't do that to me.
They state that the energy comes from Quercetin which, according to them, is a powerful all natural antioxidant. I haven't had anything else with Quercetin in it, but it seems to work in this drink. There is also Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12 and Catechins in the contents. Catechins, according to the internet, is is a natural phenol antioxidant plant secondary metabolite commonly found in green tea. This drink is non-carbonated.

This truly tastes like apricot nectar. It doesn't have that wierd energy drink aftertaste. I really enjoy the taste, and it is best when consumed cold. I like to sip it as opposed to downing it in several gulps.

If you are looking for energy without the crazy jitters, I recommend this drink. There are several flavors to choose from if you wish to have variety.
