It is what I wanted. Loaded with tender dried fruit and nuts. I'll order again.

How do I love fruit cake?,

I'll tell you how I love Claxton fruitcake. With the crunchy nuts and the moist fruit, it is to die for. My family does not care for traditional fruit cake with the citron, so Claxton is the answer. It comes to us with all the goodness sealed in and ready to slice and serve.FRUIT CAKE Boxed -1 lb Regular Recipe Claxton Fruitcake

This is hard, dry, and tasteless. It could be used for a doorstop or perhaps a weapon. If you have an enemy, send them this.

Fruit and nuts,

I prefer the version without nuts. It's loaded with all kinds of candied fruits. If you've ever liked any fruitcake, you'll like the no nuts version. Order it from the Claxton fruitcake company, direct.

Well I wanted to try it-but I dont think i fully expected it to be SOOooo fattening(but it is cake , so my bad). for one serving its 14g of fat and 36 gram of sugar and 420 calories- so times 4 if you eat the package(which isnt really that big).
so the COSTS of this item in terms of fat and calories, I think id rather just spend it on french fries or some pie- well fries have salt, at least this item is pretty low on salt, only 100mg per serving. if you just want taste, I think it tastes great with nice texture. for taste alone id give it 4 stars, i just personally dont think its worth the fat and calories. p.s. i said it before ill say it again, I really wish companies would stop using sugar and start using STEVIA! A natural sweet safe healthy herb with no calories! i dont understand who or what in american society is so powerful enough to prevent stevia from being used- are the sugar and artifical sweetener conglamorates really conspiring to control everything and prevent additional competition?

i wanted to get a cheap fruit cake.... and this is it. mostly nuts. not much fruit. very dry. when i put it into the fridge it turned darker. i was able to get a really good quality fruit cake sampler at Macy's for $9 which is not that much more money.

A really good fruitcake--if you eat it within a few weeks,

I bought five of these fruitcakes to last me two holiday seasons. I heard that fruitcake tends not to go bad, so I figured with the great price here on Amazon, it was worth stocking up.The cakes I ate in December were FLAWLESS--absolutely a delight to eat, particularly for Yuletide. However, I found that my "stock up" idea back fired and I ended up throwing away three of my remaining fruitcakes away in June. I am not sure why it was...but as they just sat on the shelf, I became more afraid of them--until I finally threw them out. That thin plastic covering just doesn't say "fresh" to me as well as a metal tin does. So buy these when you are ready to eat them...you will really enjoy the taste. But saving them on the shelf for a year? No. If you want to save one or more for later, I really suggest freezing, just to be safe! Very good fruitcake! |
