4.0 out of 5 stars First time for Frye sneakers
I have been a big fan of Frye boots for more than thirty years, but this my first time to sample the sneakers. Gray-green leather is the color of my pair and I have enjoyed wearing this versatile color. There is not a lot of padding in this shoe, and it is definitely not to be used for any athletic exertions other than mild walking. But it is stylish, appears...

3.0 out of 5 stars looks good feels rough
Nice looking retro style sneaker.
Looks vintage.

Feels like you are wearing a shoe with sandpaper on the inside. Not at all comfortable and the seam finish on the interior grinds off skin quite efficiently.

You might ask , what? No socks?

If you were wearing socks then you likely wouldn't be wearing these shoes...

4.0 out of 5 stars First time for Frye sneakers, July 31, 2011

Gray-green leather is the color of my pair and I have enjoyed wearing this versatile color. There is not a lot of padding in this shoe, and it is definitely not to be used for any athletic exertions other than mild walking. But it is stylish, appears well made, and I paid less than $40 on the "gently used" ledger. Would buy another pair in a different color.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Design., May 26, 2010

The Converse style sneaker is easily one of my favorite designs in footwear. I have purchased this style shoe from a lot of different companies and this is easily one of my favorite designs. Basically the Green's Low Lace Sneaker is a sneaker that has a grungy, used appearance. If your someone who enjoys distressed/aged clothing then you should definitely check these out. They are absolutely perfect for blue jeans. The only negative is they are a bit expensive. I for one think its worth it. If your a blue jeans junkie like myself then these are the shoes for you. In particular the Blue colored version is nothing short of outstanding. I think its one of the best designs for this type of footwear that I have ever seen but again these are really for people who enjoy that aged look. If you like your sneakers shiny fresh and new appearance wise then you should definitely look elsewhere.

Bottom line - A very unique take on the converse style low top. A bit expensive but definitely worth it imo. Again they are absolutely perfect for jeans. Frye also makes this style in a high top version which is just as nice as the low version. Whichever one you wind up buying, you wont be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best sneaker ever, June 16, 2011

Just a great sneaker. I would buy more in different colors but the choices are limited - I wonder if they discontinued the line and are just selling off the extra inventory?
