These boots were defective, the harness was obviously too short and poorly connected on the right boot. I don't know how they made it past QC at the factory. Worse yet, I returned them to Amazon and got the EXACT same defective pair back as a supposed replacement. Needless to say I returned them AGAIN for a full refund. Poor showing, Amazon and Frye.

And had no problems whatsoever. Felt terrific. Not every boot would be so merciful the fist time on and out the door. Chestnut and burgundy go together splendidly. And the little belt set-up looks dressier than the plain harness. It can also be fiddled with to resemble a regular waist belt. Show your love with some Obenaufs.
Fryes have the edge in look and build. Don't hope for a better price, these are American with American cost of living.

These boots in chestnut are both dressy and casual and are very cool. I've worn them about a week and they now conform nicely around my feet. They give great support to foot and ankle. Typical quality and style that is unique to Frye.

Purchased on ENDLESS but same price as Amazon. Frye boots are second to none! I have gone through multiple brands of boots. I tried a couple Ariat boots but they just felt cheap. I really wanted to buy the Harness 8r or 12r in dark brown but they only have them in size 13 not a EE. The 13 toe box was a tight and I had to return. Tried the Gaucho color but they did not have as much character as this Chestnut color. The Chestnut color on the website does not do them justice. They are not as red as they look on the website. The leather on frye boots are amazing and I love the buckles and especially the stripe on the heel which gives this boot so much character. You definitely get what you pay for and I like the fact that Frye boots are MADE IN THE USA! I would certainly recommend the boots to a friend. My only complaint with Frye is, they only offer chestnut and black in EE sizes. After finding these Chestnut Belted Harness, I am more than satisfied and these will be finding a home in my closet.

**Not sure about the quality control random review but I have yet to find a fault in Frye boots except the sizing limits but I'm sure companies have to draw a limit to models and styles.
