When I wear these boots, women I pass by on the street get pregnant.
So comfy, so classic stylish....I get tons of compliments. These ain't your sissy italian boots - these are as americana as they come. May as well be super glued to my feet. Order it 1/2 size smaller than your normal size. Oh, and get it from [...] if you're afraid of it not fitting, since they have free shipping both ways. I think I can say that on Amazon now that they bought Zappo's. :) But I think I can confidently say you won't be returning these, unless you don't have the income to cover the child support bills that will result.

Quality of boot is obvious. Great looking. Some people said to order 1/2 size smaller but I'm glad I ignored that. I take 10 1/2 or 11 depending on shoe - for the boots I ordered 11 and they fit perfect. Very satisfied.

Rugged and Elegant,

Simply a handsom well made pair of boots. They are are rugged yet elegant at the same time. I wear them with jeans or slacks and get compliments all the time. They are a bit difficult to slip on the first few times because of the harness, but once they're boken in, they are very comfortable.

I bought Gaucho for my husband and he enjoys them a lot ao far. He discarded sneakers almost right away and now is wearing the boots to work everyday. The boots are very (military) stylish and versatile, and the Frye quality is top notch. The heels are a little bit high but feel comfortable, so they are perfect for someone who is not extremely satisfied with your height :)
They do run a little bit big, so I ordered them half size down, but you may think it twice if you are used to thick inserts.

Very comfortable, very stylish. I'm still breaking them in but they seem to be getting more comfortable every time I wear them. Very happy with this purchase.

Some of the Best Boots Ever,

Frye makes these classic harness boots better than any other. Their top-of-the-line quality and construction are equal to none that I have ever seen. They use the best top-quality materials, employ rugged, durable construction, and are made in the USA. When you put these on you will know that they are well worth the price. A pair of these boots will last you a very long time and continue to look good. They do take some time to break in and they seem to run a little small, but otherwise no real complaints. I've had other boots that were decent, but these take the prize.

Look Great AND Comfortable!,

If you are looking at these boots, you probably did what I was doing....drooling! I bought the chocolate brown ones about two months ago after a lot of research and reading everything I could from current owners. Everything you read about these boots are right on the money. I do suggest getting your normal size....I just got lucky because my size is the smallest that they carried. I love these boots so much that on my amazon wish list is a pair of black ones. Hopefully my wife is paying attention!

These boots are terrific. The leather is top quality and the fit is perfect. As an FYI, there have been a few who have suggested you should order a smaller size than your normal fit, but in my case I wear an 11, that's what I ordered and the size is spot on.

Great looking boot and good quality. Boot fits good and snug across main part of foot, but is a little big in the heel. Fits true to size otherwise.

when I was in college, law school and beyond, I lived in the Frye Jodhpur (spelling?) low-cut boot which Frye discontinued... those things were sooooo comfortable and, in an era when there were a lot of good shoe repair businesses, I would simply re-heel and sole the boots - each pair lasted me about a decade... of daily use...
when I received these boots and finally got my feet into the boots (more on that in a moment) my feet "remembered" how great Frye boots felt on my feet... however, the problem I encountered was this: 1) I could not get my feet into the boot with cotton sweat socks on so I put on cotton dress socks as they are thinner... 2) while I had no problem with one boot (the left foot) it is a struggle to get on the right boot... when I say struggle I mean struggle! - I have to pull and pull (I have actually been afraid I am going to tear the loops right off the boot I am pulling so hard) to get the boot on... ironically, once the boot is on, the boot fits very comfortably on my foot - and getting them off is not difficult... the problem is getting my foot past the ankle area (where the harness strap is) on the one (right) boot... just for the heck of it I measured the circumference of each of the boots at the very top of the boot (my boots are size 11) the left boot was just under 40 mm at the top and the right boot was just over 38.5 mm at the top - apparently that 1+ mm difference accounts for the huge disparity in the ability to get the boots on.... just for the heck of it, I contacted Frye and asked what they would suggest - their advice, not surprising, was to take the boots to a cobbler and have the cobbler "gently" stretch the ankle area on the tight boot or simply wait for the boots to stretch and soften "naturally" over time with use... the problem with their advice: in this day and age find a cobbler! there are a handful of cobblers in our area but each is about 15 miles away!!! and when I read the reviews, one reviewer would praise the business, the next reviewer would state that the business ruined their shoes!! since these boots retail for over $200 I cannot take the chance that some incompetent will ruin the boots... so, for now, I am going to rely on the advice of Frye and hope that continued use will open up the tightness and allow me to eventually be able to get the right boot on without a struggle... I will add to my review (if possible) in a few months and state whether use has resolved the issue.... |
