These look great and even fit well but bend when walking in such a way that the fold right into the top of your food. I wrote frye the following. Maybe I got a bad pair. I'l update my review should it work out.

Dear Frye,

I've had my eye on Frye shoes for about 2 years but the $200 price point was a bit much for me .... but boy! did they look sweet.

For Christmas I received a $100 Amazon Gift card and immediately saw it as a $100 Frye Gift Card!

I read the reviews, did my research and took the plunge on a sweet pair of tan James penny loafers.

As per the reviews I read. I ordered a 1/2 size up. Sure enough they fit perfectly and looked awesome, but after a few hours, when the shoe bent when walking ...

[sent them a picture if of the shoe bending]

... the fold pressed down on the top of my feet right where the toes bend. Both feet in, the exact same place.

We'll "no pain, no gain" I wore them for another week hoping to get the kinks out but every day felt the same. So I rested a week to give my bruises time to heal hoping and hoping.

This morning I put them on and "YOW" ... still the pain. I literally have to walk with my toes curled under to get around the office. However, when not walking they feel and look great. One problem ... I need to walk once-in-a-while.

I LOVE THESE SHOES BUT I'M DESPERATE. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS TO FIX THIS OR AM MY OUT OF LUCK WITH A $200 PAIR OF SHOES I CAN'T WEAR.

Well built and fairly comfortable shoes, but the distressing is totally synthetic and obvious. The parts of the shoes that look lighter in the picture actually have a silverish paint sprayed on them. More heavily and noticeable around the seams. Had I known this I would not have bought.
