Product Description

The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.

From the factory floors of historic industry, Walter is the workingman's boot: top grade full grain leather, tapered shaft and multiple tiers of micro stitching throughout. Just like title says i bought these because they looked like alden indy natural chox but once they arrived they had a strange hue to them in bright light they almost look tan but in dimmer light they have a green hue to them its very strange, just know this buyer that the color represented in the ad is not the color I received. All that being said they are really really great looking style of boot. If you like the alden indy and cant afford to drop 479 on a pair these look just as good.

Expensive but worth it. High quality, made like you would hope your shoes would be made. You pay dearly, but these are the same quality as the boots I had in college that I still wear (I won't talk about the DECADES I have had them. Fit is very good, true to size. I wore them in the house for a few days to get accustomed to them and for them to get accustomed to me. Good idea, as I had no issues or blisters wearing them outside the first time.

BTW, be EXTREMELY sceptical of discount Frye boots. I did an internet search and found a great website that offered terrific discounts. Luckily for me, as I went through the checkout process, the site only accepted Visa, which I don't have. I phoned Frye and they said they NEVER discount, and sadly, there are extremely well-done but fraudulent websites that clone Frye's product descriptions but are simply fronts to steal your credit card info. I bought these through Amazon's business partner ShoeMall at a substantial discount (they had only a few left) and the process was as good as Amazon's: smooth transaction, quick delivery, goods as advertised.

Boots fit as expected. Whiskey is the perfect color as a good mix of light and dark brown. FRYE manufactures high quality boots and propels its prestigious reputation further.
