My first pair of Fryes!

I ordered the dark brown calfskin. They are a lovely deep dark leather, nice and tall (I am 5'6 and they come right up to my knee.

I really like these boots however I have a few gripes. I read another review somewhere where it was mentioned that the upper flap needs to be reinforced or else it will fan out on the sides, making it look wing-like. Upon just wearing the boots a few days, I realized this to be true. When I brought my 2 - day old shoes into the shoe repairman to have the reinforcement done, he tried to talk me into also replacing the soles. I declined, telling him they were brand new and that I wasn't going to replace the soles of a brand new boot. He looked at the thinly soled bottom with skepticism and informed me that he would see me in a few months for repairs to them anyway.

And, sadly, he is right. The soles aren't holding up very well and I do alot of walking around the city. This feel especially disappointing as Frye is known and respected for it's craftsmanship and durability over the years - let alone months!

My final gripe about these boots are that my skinny jeans do not fit so well when tucked inside. The boots are fairly fitted to my leg, however with plenty of room for jeans. Unfortunately, my jeans just bunch up giving me serious baggy knee - a problem I don't have with other boots. For me, these are better with leggings and dresses - and to that point, I really do love the way they look.

This wa to be my first pair of Frye boots and I went bold ordering them in cranberry, only to be disappointed when they got here. They are beautiful but way too tall for short girls I am 5' 3" and they were too big for my feet. I wear a 7.5 universally in all shoes. Not sure if it is standard to run big for Frye. Hopefully another style will work.

I have these boots, although I didn't purchase them through amazon. They were my 2nd pair of Fryes and I love them. They fit true to size, and the leather is top quality.

I had been looking at these boots for a while. I searched and read all the reviews before ordering. I have trouble finding tall boots to fit over my calves so I searched before spending this kind of money on boots that won't fit. They are very great boots. The leather is beautiful and soft. They look amazing on. I tried to order these off another site and they would have cost me almost $100 more. Amazon was a perfect choice!

These boots were really nice and made well. I liked them, but they looked a little too much like a "work boot" versus a nicer boot I could wear to work so I returned them. They were great quality though and really nice. If you are looking for something casual, these are a great buy!

I had the same problem as the other 8/2011 reviewer. After ordering these Frye's in cognac I received Frye Paige oxford shoes. I contacted shoes.com and they weren't sure what happened, but gave me a free return label. She also suggested I write on the return slip that I ordered Paige BOOTS yet received oxfords and ask the shoes.com return processor to mail me the correct item. Hopefully they correct their mistake, but I have a feeling I won't be receiving these boots and my payment will be returned. It's pretty annoying that I had to spend 15 minutes on the phone explaining what happened and then drive to UPS to drop off the incorrect order without getting any product in return. If I wanted to waste time, I would go store to store trying to find boots I like... I shop online for the convenience and this was not at all convenient.

1 star is for my experience and not receiving what I ordered. If i were reviewing the boots I'd give 5 stars because I have these in black already and love them. They're a little baggy on my average sized calves, but they fit perfectly when I wear jeans or thick leggings. I'm 5'5" with short legs and they come up to the bottom of my kneecaps. They're quite tall compared to Frye's shorter 14L Campus boots, but I prefer taller boots. Compared to the height of my Dorados which sit right at my kneecaps, Paige boots are about 1 inch shorter.

I had been wanting these boots for a year and finally was able to get them! They are pricey but so worth it. You get what you pay for and you're paying for QUALITY. FRYE boots never fail me. I had purchased another pair of FRYE boots almost 2.5 years ago and they are still like new. The Paige boot is so comfortable, the leather is soft, and I didn't have to "break in" the boot. I would have given a 5 star review but I didn't only because the boot is pretty tall and being that I'm barely 5' tall, the boot practically hits my knee cap. Despite that, I love the boot and wear it often!!!! And the color is such a rich dark chocolate. LOVE THEM.

Fabulous Boots! I wish I did purchase a 7, as they have been broken in and make my feet look a bit big. It's still worth it though, they are fantastic and comfy!

I was really excited when I saw these boots posted for 178.00 in Cognac through shoes.com. The $20 off offer make it even better. However, this deal was obviously too good to be true, because when I received my item in the mail, they were the cognac Paige oxfords, not riding boots. I called the company right away, but they offered no apologies and told me I could return them through their website. Do not buy these boots through the shoes.com listing, or you'll be getting quite a bit less than you expected.

These boots are beautiful, and this review speaks not of the product itself, I only wanted to warn others who may be lured in by a good deal and receive nothing but frustration instead.

I waited all year to receive this gorgeous boots for Christmas. I received them in the cognac color. Gorgeous!!!

But they are WAAAYYY too tall for my 5'4 fram. They make me look disproportionate and short. Sad ) : I had to send them back.
