The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.

These shoes are incredibly comfortable and I feel like I'm wearing slippers. They're very lightweight (thin soles, minimal padding) - which you'll either love or hate (I'm in the former camp). They're a bit pricy, but mine still look new after months of daily use. The leather definitely stretches to fit your foot, so you'll want them to feel snug when you first buy them.

It's very difficult to find a well made shoe with leather top and bottom. Very simple, but comfortable shoe. Leather across toes is a little snug, until you wear a couple of times, and then they feel like sliding on a pair of slippers. Also bought a pair in black. Colors were same as pictured on internet. Highly recommend.

I have the silver, they are very soft and comfortable. Look great with everything. They never gave me blisters. I have a wider foot and they fit great without the toe pointing up like cheaper shoes can do.

I have two pairs of these shoes. I love the look and the fit.
After 3 months both pairs are misshapen and look terrible.
These don't last very long at all. For the price I expected to wear them for a couple of years.

As a true believer in Frye boots, I am not sure why it took me so long to buy a pair of these flats. I'm usually between a 7 and a 7 1/2, but always a 7 in Frye boots, and the 7 in these flats fit perfectly. The leather is high quality and soft, the shoes have a classic and timeless look, and they are comfortable out of the box. Like many of Frye's shoes, the soles are leather and therefore really slick. If you don't like that, you should take them in and get some rubber soles put on them before wearing them and scuffing up the bottom.

Having read about Frye's reputation for quality craftsmanship and the fact that they are an American company who makes their products in the United States, I ordered these shoes with great anticipation. I love the unique look and was quite excited to wear them. I just got them today and they are way too small and really very thin and flimsy. I usually wear a 9.5 in women's shoes but having read that these may run a little small, I ordered a 10 (the largest size available). They are still TOO SMALL! I've been wearing the same size shoes for nearly 30 years, so I'm pretty sure my feet haven't grown. Also, I purposely purchased from an American company and yet, these shoes are MADE IN CHINA! I called the company to confirm that these were, in fact, real Frye shoes and the representative told me that some of their shoes are made in China. Perhaps if the shoes were made in the U.S. (as advertised) the sizing would be correct! Returning for a refund. So very disappointed.

I debated over these for awhile. They are super cute but the 9 I ordered felt a little tight and the sides were really low and bent in weird when I walked. Didn't feel 148 dollars was worth spending on these. Sent them back

Even though these run a little small (I ordered an 8, but am sometimes between an 8 and 8.5), the leather stretches with wear and becomes the perfect fit after a few uses.

I'm always looking for comfortable black flats because I wear them with just about everything. I had problems wearing cute flats at work because all the cute ones seemed to hurt my feet (high arches), so I resorted to wearing some mary-jane crocs. However, a co-worker of mine made a comment that my shoes were too noisy because they make a rubbing sound if you don't wear a liner or socks. So, I decided to look for something else. I found these after googling "comfy flats", and am so glad I did.

These felt so comfortable right when I put them on. I wore them at work the whole day (9+hours), and my feet were fine afterward. The thing is that I suggest wearing a liner for the first few days (those no-show socks you can buy for flats) while your feet stretch the leather to fit you, otherwise, the skin on your toes and heels might be sore after wearing them for a whole day. I ordered a pair in black, and then ordered the blush/beige color a week later, and the leather on the light color was so soft it felt like suede. I'm definitely going to collect these in every color! I'll just have to space out my purchases because these are a bit pricey, but I definitely feel like it's worth the extra money!
