I bought them to wear with skirts and the two together are a great pairing.
The fit is perfect, the color is the most beautiful, rich brown.
I got these boots a week ago and I've been wearing them nearly every day (for eight hours a day).

Product Description

Style and comfort are combined into every boot and shoe Frye crafts. These Women's Carson Lace-Up Boots are constructed from antique, soft leather, and offer a classic front lace up closure. These ultra-cool women's boots feature cushioned leather footbeds, and durable leather outsoles. When you need the right pair of boots for any occasion, Frye will be the perfect fit.

The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.

I loved this shoe, but it is very narrow across top of foot by laces. Plenty of room in toe box. Was hoping shoe would loosen up with the heat of my foot but no such luck. I have other Frye shoes and love them, but this one just ran too narrow for my foot. The color & leather were gorgeous (I got the walnut). When I opened the box it smelled wonderfully of the leather. Frye is a great shoe, and I will keep trying, but unfortunately this one didn't work. Wish they came in a wide.

Love the look of these shoes. Very sharp. Issue is the nails sticking out of the walking surface on the heel. These should not be there, right?
After wearing all day, nail heads still there.

Winner! This Boot reminds me of the Ariat Lacer Boot with the styling and longer toe box.. for saddle riding! (seriously).. so, for me I always wear a 9 in Frye.. but with the longer toe box I might could have gotten by with an 8.5 but I say that lightly because I will be wearing a little thicker sock so I don't mind the little longer toe box at all. I am definitely happy with this boot... It's made in Mexico if that matters to some Fryer purchasers. The bottoms are leather and stitched.

These are simply gorgeous in person. Right out of the box there are a few spots that are a little tight, but easy to wear for half or most of the day while breaking in. I've been wearing them with everything- they're fantastic!

Other reviews recommended to order a 1/2 size up- I have high arches and sometimes need a wider area around the ball of the foot, but I ordered my usual size (9 1/2) and found those to be a perfect fit.

My new fave boots! My feet are a teeny bit wide so I worried they might pinch a little, but other than one slightly tight spot when I first slipped the boot on (which resolved itself instantly), they required zero break in time. Very flattering boots!

I got these boots a week ago and I've been wearing them nearly every day (for eight hours a day). The first day they were a bit tight in the width, but by the second day they fit perfectly. They're beautiful, comfortable and well-made. I love them.

I bought these in the dressier shinier black. Very nicely made. I keep boots a long time so I appreciate quality. Based on reviews I ordered up. Honestly I would have have been fine in my normal size. These boots are a bit wide on my narrow to med width foot. I used inserts and will wear thick socks. These boots are much more feminine than other Frye's in my opinion and could be worn in a dressy casual setting.

I received these as a Christmas present and I love them. Like all well-made leather boots, they were a bit stiff at first, but they are starting to break in nicely. They are super comfortable and the heel height is perfect. I got them in cognac and they look great with dresses, leggings and skinny jeans. I wear a 39EU and the size 8 is a perfect fit. If you have a decent cobbler, Frye boots should last a while.
