THESE BOOTS ARE GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL WORKMANSHIP AND FIT LIKE A GLOVE.
Comfortable and true to size and easy to pull on without the plastic bag trick!
The colour (I ordered Tan) is true to picture, and has an orange lining inside which is fun.

Product Description

The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.

A lugged sole lends traction and durability to this attractive knee-high boot.

I'm 5' 9 with a 13'5 inch calf they come up a few inches below my knee nice and high , they fit loosely but are not sloppy looking in the shaft.

    ...Unfortunately I'm 5'3".
I thought this was the perfect boot with just the right mix of detail and classic elements.
I found it for a great price on amazon but I had to return it .
First of all it hit on my knee so it was an awkward looking height on my leg.
The other problem was it was very narrow and tight in the toe box. I am pretty much across the board a size 7 , but I would need a 7.5 in this shoe. (I have replaced with 2 other pairs of Frye boots veronica and Melissa and I am a 7 in both)
Overall it is still a gorgeous boot , just not meant to be for me!

I loved these boots from the moment I saw them online. When I first got my Frye box is looked in pretty bag shape (falling apart and frayed), but the boots inside were pristine and still wrapped in plastic with an ample amount of tissue paper and shoe forms. The colour (I ordered Tan) is true to picture, and has an orange lining inside which is fun. They're made in Spain (not USA or Mexico) which is great in my opinion. As for the fit, they fit more or less true to size, however, I think I could have gone with a half size smaller if I wanted to (I usually wear insoles anyways, so no big deal). They hit to about my knee (I'm 5'2") and the calf is snug, but not overwhelmingly tight (my calf measures 14" around). Nice to wear with knee high socks. The lug sole will be great for the icy and wet weather and looks very sturdy. Overall I'm very satisfied for the price and I hope these boots will last me at least a decade!

These are the best boots, I would definitely not go up a size, Fryes tend to run large. I got horrible blisters on my heels the first time I wore them, but they are perfectly broken in and are so comfortable and fabulous. The lug sole is PERFECT for Pacific Northwest winters!

Thea's boots are great , they are very pretty I got them in Bordeaux and they are a nice red brown color . I'm 5' 9 with a 13'5 inch calf they come up a few inches below my knee nice and high , they fit loosely but are not sloppy looking in the shaft. Easy on and off no breaking in required . True to size. I got the Linsey spur first and they did not feel good at all so I was apprehensive to order the dorado , very happy I did .

These Frye boots did not arrive in the Frye box. They clearly had been worn, were bent and scuffed. They obviously had been preowned. I was very dissappointed because I paid over $300.00 expecting a brand new pair of boots.

I absolutely love the leather and that they are comfortable. No weather protectant necessary. Order true to size. Unless you are between sizes I would not recommend ordering up. Perfect go-to boot for fall/winter.

I'm 5'2" and these boot actually came up and cut into my kneecap. I have other tall boots from Frye that aren't quite as tall, but this seems to be an issue with the Frye riding boots, so beware if you're on the short side. These would definitely work great for tall ladies and the leather is lovely.

I ordered a 7.5 (my usual size) and it was a bit too tight in the toe. So the size 8 is just right with a pair of smart wool socks. Frye has teamed with a Spanish boot maker to create a full welted and durable, plus nice looking boot. Amazon service is great also! Thx
