I had been looking for tall black riding boots for quite a while when I finally found these. They are beautiful and far surpass any other pair that I looked at. They're a little more expensive than some of the others but they're definitely worth it. The leather and craftsmanship are gorgeous (including the leather soles) and the height of the shaft is perfect (they might be too high for someone on the short side). I did find that they run a bit large in the heal so they can slip up and down as you walk. I tried putting in heal cushions but then I couldn't slip them on comfortably so I just wear thicker socks and that helps. In other reviews some people mentioned that the toe area was tight but I have wide feet and I didn't find that at all. Bottom line, these boots are beautiful and I highly recommend them!

These are lovely boots. I'm 5'6", with short legs and fairly "big" calves (15 inches), and they fit perfectly. They're not too tall. They fit true to size on my 7 1/2 feet. I did not find them too narrow. The sole is very stiff, but I've read other reviews that say that this will ease up once they're broken in. Aaaaand my husband thinks they're sexy. Love the boot, love the sale price!

I've been looking for a nice pair of riding boots and found these a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately the seller I usually buy from didn't have them in my size in black. So I was thrilled when I found them on Amazon and at a slightly better price.

They are exactly what I wanted. The height is just right for me. I am just under 5'7" and they almost come to the knee. The calf width is fine. I have one leg that has been broken twice and the calf muscle is smaller than the other. The shaft fit both legs fine and while I had more room on the slimmer leg, it was not too much.

I did have some heel slide on the first wearing but just need slightly thicker socks. Otherwise they were very comfortable and I did receive a lot of compliments on them.

They're not giving them away but when compared to other brands I looked at, I thought they were priced reasonably. Especially when I saw the quality of workmanship and materials.

I did buy them mostly for fashion, but I could actually ride in these and probably will.

I have been looking for just the right tall boots for a long time. I love Frye, but it is always hard to tell how the boots will look once you get them on. Love these! I am 5' 11" with muscular calves. These fit over my calves easily and can fit jeans inside. They go right up to the knee - a little taller than most, which I enjoy. The leather is beautiful as well. The toe is slightly more pointed than other Frye styles I have. As usual, these boots run a tiny bit big. I fully recommend these boots!

This is a true to size, high quality, and beautiful boot. I have a slightly wide foot, yet Frye boots fit me like they were made for me. The leather is sturdy, but soft and comfortable. This is my favorite FRYE boot and I highly recommend the Dorado Riding Boot.

I've been wearing these around my house, getting them ready for winter, and they are molding to my feet beautifully. I've read a few reviews on this and other sites that say these are uncomfortable, and I would wholeheartedly disagree. They are stiff when you first get them, but not uncomfortable. They just need to be broken in. They are absolutely gorgeous and worth the break-in time. Absolutely love Frye boots. These are a lovely, classic addition to my collection. I've looked for black, flat boots with silver hardware for years. I've tried not to buy these because they were expensive, but I could never find another pair that were as gorgeous as these. Very glad I took the plunge. They are beautifully made and worth every penny.

I've been wanting these boots for a couple years but I'd been holding out because of the $450+ price tag. Then I saw them on sale for $315 and immediately ordered a pair in black!

I love Frye boots and these are my 3rd pair.. But these are the narrowest and don't fit as well as my other Frye boots. (I've had brown Paige boots for 4 years now and they are the comfiest boots EVER) The boot itself is beautifully constructed with great leather. Love! But unfortunately I have wide feet and my toes were totally crunched when I tried them on. FYI, I normally wear size 9 and these boots fit well everywhere except the toe area in size 9. Didn't have the heel problem like others. So I went up half size, but still the toe crunch... I wanted a pair of walking boots so sadly both pairs went back.

So three stars because they're great pair of boots but just not for those with wide feet. And one more thing, because these boots have long, narrow toes, they make your feet look bigger (if you are concerned).

I love these boots, but like the other buyers have said they are somewhat uncomfortable initially. I am normally a size 10 and think that I definitely could have gone up 1/2 - 1 size. Anyway I am persevering and they are getting more comfortable. They are really beautiful boots, gorgeous leather.

I love the quality and fit of frye boots and these were no exception. The bordeaux is a nice deep rich reddish brown. I'm tall and they came right up to my knee cap, which is hard to find. The leather is not thin and so far they don't sag too much with wear. the fit is true to size, do not size down!! they take awhile to break in because the sole is so stiff, but its worth it!

Purchased after a long time looking at different boots. Didn't know if I really wanted to spend that kind of money on them. I am glad I did as they are very comfortable and well made. Had to go up 1/2 size.
