Bought this in an emergency situation never having heard of the company or ever having used a universal charger for anything before. It worked the first time, the brick doesn't heat up significantly on my Compaq, and the changeable plug insert stays connected to the wire without worry.

Did not fit my HP DV6T-2000.

Their website advertised HP support, but it must have been for the new models. My computer is only 2 years old though?

This is a good adapter if you keep your notebook on a desk and do not move it. If you are more portable in your notebook use, you will quickly find that the connection was not designed for you in mind. The connectors simply use two straight metal pins, and the cable itself just has the two holes for those pins to connect to. There is no locking mechanism to keep the connector attached to the cable. This "straight pin" design is flawed. The connector constantly disconnects from the cable itself. While that is the only negative I can find, it is a huge one and makes the product very frustrating to use for me. If they improve on the design with some type of locking mechanism between the connector and the cable portion, then I would rate it much higher.

This was a cheaply made, cheaply packaged, non-functioning waste of my money. It does provide plug sizes for most laptops and netbooks, but that's not helpful when the plug doesn't maintain a connection, forcing the notebook to switch rapidly and repeatedly between AC and battery power. I'm fortunate I'm not epileptic; as it was, the continuous switching back and forth made me ill. The converter box itself was so poorly made I thought perhaps it had been damaged in transit, but no, the box was intact -- it's just a bad product.
