More About the Author

I'm the type of person who questions social norms. In school I was annoying to my teachers but entertaining to my friends. I had a series of traditional jobs growing up and the experience wasn't all negative. I enjoyed making work friends and having some money to spend, however it always killed me to have others dictate how I would spend my time because it stifled my creativity. It never really worked for me to have someone always looking over my shoulder because of the imposed limits. It was counterproductive for profits.

It wasn't until I started building passive income streams that I opened up a whole new way to live my life. My grandmother thinks I'm crazy and wishes I would go get a traditional job at a big corporation and work my way up the ladder like she and my grandfather did, but she can't really argue with my y strategy or my success in the marketplace.

I have found a way to make sustainable income doing what I enjoy from any internet cafe in the world and this has opened my life up to a whole new level of freedom and adventure. Trekking across Vietnam, spending months at a time in South America, or just jumping from train to train exploring Europe would not have been possible without this consistent steam of passive income coming in month after month. Everyday I'm grateful for the life I've been able to create for myself. My goal is to share my experience in the hopes that others can learn to create whatever life it is that they desire.

This book is informative and helpful in very few ways. It is also a near-total rewrite of two posts by Steve Pavlina on his website, StevePavlina dot com. Search for "passive income" on that site and use your $3 for a good cup of coffee. Pavlina is a source of bizarre amounts of terrific info on making passive income. I'll bet most of these insta-Kindle authors got their start with Pavlina.

Additionally, it would have been better to subtitle this as "Why you should develop a passive income stream" rather than "How to..." This article is far heavier on the "why to quit your job" than the "how to make passive income happen." And on that note, a few remarks on this book's content versus its stated goal (showing you how to do it). The bulk of this book is a lot of snowflakey Dr. Phil-meets-Tony-Robbins hyperbolic BS. Telling you how to get out of your comfort zone, "creating leverage with yourself," (signal flare: this idiot doesn't know what the word "leverage" means, but it sure does sound businessy!), and "providing passive value to others." Again, just WTF is "passive value?" He throws jargon around like a freshman business consultant in his first meeting, telling everyone to "get out of the box." It's all pabulum and filler to compensate for his lack of genuine competence. Now, take Steve Scott...

If you buy this title, get one or two titles from Steve Scott and compare how helpful they are. The author of this book is one more insta-Kindle joke who is trying to live for free without making any effort. When you buy a Steve Scott eBook, you are getting value plus, plus and plus again. I picked up Scott's title, "How to Discover Nonfiction Bestselling eBook Ideas - The Bulletproof Strategy," and I took almost eleven pages of word-processed notes.

I would agree with other reviews that perhaps the title of this book is a bit misleading: "How to Create a Passive Income Stream and Never Work Again" does make it sound like it gives a step-by-step how to. It does not. I, however, knew that before I purchased this book from reading reviews before my purchase. Perhaps a better subtitle would have been "How to Think Independently, Overcome Common Misconceptions and Pitfalls and Never Work Again". Lengthy, but perhaps more suitable.

Having said that, for what this book is, I found it to be extremely helpful. Since I was a young child I've always wanted to "work for myself", however, for some reason it just never came to be. This author touches on many of the reasons why people let those dreams stagnate and eventually fall to the wayside. My best advice to anyone who feels like they are "stuck" ... this is perhaps the perfect read to help them gain a healthy, clear, and realistic perspective on what it takes to create a passive income and move forward.

*** UPDATE ***

!*!*!* This book is plagiarism. *!*!*!

I read another readers review after having read the book myself, and to be sincere, I thought the comments about the contents of this book essentially being a rehash of Steve Pavlina's site (someone who I've previously not heard of) was an exaggeration. I made my own review, noted the people mentioned in this review to look into, a few hours later I landed on Steve Pavlina's site, and sure enough, the review is 100% spot on. The author here, Zachariah Rigby, has LITERALLY copy and pasted from Steve Pavlina's website.

Disgusting.

Angering.

I feel down right cheated.

I will be contacting Amazon for my own refund and to make them aware of this serious issue.

I picked this book up excitedly, flipped to the first page and thought "...where have I read this before?" Did a quick search and found that it was copy and pasted from Steve Pavlina. The author is not informing us how to create a passive income stream. Rather he is demonstrating how he and apparently all of us can make money through plagiarism. I still cannot grasp how this book has made its way on the market. Perhaps they should re-release it with credit to Steve Pavlina as the author.

So I got this book and hoped it would be something meaningful, funny or marginally valuable. It is essentially a self promoting, "buy more of my books" book. I think there needs to be a traffic cop for this material in the submissions department to kill this stuff before people waste money on it.

Nothing new. No actionable info and a retread of a retread of other older books.

Brutally honest straight forward...but much to short and needed so more example stories or nuance.
