Book Description

July 20, 1998 0127845852 978-0127845852
The Functional Skills Program offers professionals and paraprofessionals in the rehabilitation field a clear, organized system for assessing and tracking a client's progress. It features an easy-to-use feedback mechanism that provides detailed, objective information about functional skill performance that can be clearly understood by clients, families, health care workers, and insurers alike. Reproducible forms and charts are included for nine major skill areas: Self-Care, Meal Planning, Meal Preparation, Housecleaning and Laundry, Grocery Shopping, Use of Community Resources, Money Management, Time Management, and Transportation. This manual also provides educational modules for clients who need additional training in specific functional tasks because of inexperience, lack of education, or a need for increased structure to complete tasks.
Jennifer Wamboldt has worked with clients with brain injuries since 1979, most recently as director of occupational therapy at Community Rehabilitation Services of Arizona, Scottsdale. She developed and refined the Functional Skills Program over a number of years to identify the specific skills needed for independent living. Her program is geared to real-life settings rather than clinical situations.

Assume she is still pretty as smart.

As a novice in OT, this is outstanding work by a proficient author who has worked hard in her field. Do recall her dedication to her profession. Excellent use of basic skills development in the every-day setting. Needs work on the use of letter writing/communication skills...

Great book for the neurologically impaired. Jennifer obviously knows her stuff!! I'll bet she spent countless hours preparing this text. I can't wait to read her next publication. Does anyone know how to get an autographed copy? Next time , I'm going to buy several copies!!

P.S. I'll bet she's as attractive as she is smart. ;)
