5.0 out of 5 stars Much Much better than I expected
My cats have a carpet covered tower that they love. I was ready to get rid of the tower because their fur was embedded in the carpet. The tower was starting to look old and dingy and I tried everything I could find to clean it. Vacuuming and rolling with sticky tape rolls barely made a difference. I tried the FURemover last night and it took all the fur off the tower...

2.0 out of 5 stars A damp cloth probably works just as well
This product sort of works.... we've got 2 cats and a dog and a dark brown micro-suade couch that's pretty stubborn (annoying, since we bought microsuade to avoid this problem). Anyway, this helps get the hair that's kind of embedded in the couch loose, but it doesn't really pick it up. I'm pretty sure a damp cloth is just as, if not more, effective.

My cats have a carpet covered tower that they love. I was ready to get rid of the tower because their fur was embedded in the carpet. The tower was starting to look old and dingy and I tried everything I could find to clean it. Vacuuming and rolling with sticky tape rolls barely made a difference. I tried the FURemover last night and it took all the fur off the tower. I couldn't believe it but it looked brand new! It even took off the little pieces of carpet that the cats scratched out.

They didn't say it on the packaging anywhere, but it takes a little while for the static charge to build up and I found that it was easier to use circular motions to get the fur that was really embedded in the carpeting. It does create a mess of "fur bunnies" but it's easy to just vacuum them up afterwards.

I didn't find it particularly effective for grooming the cats. The Shed Ender is the best thing we've found for that.

If your furry critter won't stand still for the regular brush or comb, try this one; it works for my fussy cats.

The brush is soft but firm so I expect that it feels like a massage to the cat. And no scratching like a comb or stiff brush.

The hair, though, comes off in wads so make sure to sit the cat or dog on a drop cloth of some kind for this "spa treatment".

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect!, September 8, 2007

Works really well for my short-haired dog, and she likes it; it's also really effective for removing hair from couches, carpets, clothes, etc. and it's washable.

This is the ONLY thing that's really removed the embedded SHORT dog hair on my furniture. I've tried sticky rollers, the Scotch Fur Fighter (works to a degree), hand vacs... it does take a little elbow grease, but the hair will be freed completely! Yay! What's left is little balls of fur that are easy to vacuumed up.

I've never used the brush part, so no comment on that end.

4.0 out of 5 stars FURemover works ok, May 2, 2009
This review is from: FURemover Pet Hair Removal Brush (Kitchen)
My cats share my bed. One long hair and the other short hair. The FURemover worked well on the bedsheets if I used a spray bottle of water to just lightly dampen the deposits first. It rolls the hair up into strings of yarn that I can just pick up and toss. It worked pretty good on my long haired cat too. But, it doesn't get down to the undercoat. So, for her, I have to use a wire pet brush first and follow it with the moistened FUR brush. The only thing that works on my short hair is my hand. Now I'd like one that attaches to a pole so that I can do my rugs.

4.0 out of 5 stars works on fabric...not on pets, February 14, 2009
This review is from: FURemover Pet Hair Removal Brush (Kitchen)
I have a chair that is next to impossible to get cat hair off of. It must be the type of fabric. Those sticky rolls don't even get the hair off of it. I've been using one of those rubber grips that you take jar lids off with. I dampen it & after a bit of time & effort, I can finally get the cat hair off of the chair. The FURemover works on my chair! It doesn't take me as long, still takes a while though, and I don't have to put as much effort into it because the FURemover is larger, & much easier for me to hold. The FURemover works nicely when it's dampened, too.

It doesn't work on my pets though. I imagine this summer when my cats start shedding, that this will work better. As far as using it for normal grooming, like a slicker brush, etc. it doesn't get down into the fur like a brush does. However, it gives them a nice massage & they love it.

All, in all, I'm pleased with the way the FURemover picks up pet hair off of fabric. It works nicely on my red wool coat, too....who would've thought that a red wool coat would pick up almost as much lint & hair as a black one...but it does.

*edited to add some info.
The FuRemover seems to only work on hair not lint so don't think of it as a lint brush. Some hair is picked up by the bristles & some is kind of grouped together & I pick it up myself. Also, don't think of it as a pet brush. It doesn't work for that.

I purchased this at our local discount dept store (Wal-Mart) for less than $6.

This brush does not work as advertised! Yesterday I tried to brush hair off one of the dining room chairs and it made a mess and didnt even clean up the hair. I ended up just using my hand to remove the hair which worked much better!

this product is very helpful as my cats have very soft and long hair. This brush does a good job brushing their fur and does brush most of it off the sofa cushions.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic brushes, but watch the color!!! It can mark, December 31, 2010
This review is from: FURemover Pet Hair Removal Brush (Kitchen)
We have a black cat and ivory carpet--yes, what a combination!

These brushes work absolutely wonderfully, BUT we have a black one and if I try to use it in a tight area where I need to use a bit more pressure to get to the hair, it leaves black marks--like scuff marks on a hard floor, but on carpet, you can't get them off!!!

I'm looking for a white one of these, but have yet to find it. Too bad--that would make this a 5-star product for sure.
