5.0 out of 5 stars Use It Gently On Cats Please
This tool works very ***efficiently*** to remove the undercoat, and therefore little pressure needs to be applied. Be sure to stroke your cat GENTLY with the brush, especially at first until he gets used to it. If you stroke too hard, he'll become annoyed and will let you know! You'll also wind up grabbing some of the overcoat if you apply too much force...

3.0 out of 5 stars good but not great
This comb/brush does a fairly good job keeping our Pug from shedding, however, it works best if you use the furminator spray (sold separately). It's a little rough on our pups skin so we have to be very careful not to "dig in" too deep.

This tool works very ***efficiently*** to remove the undercoat, and therefore little pressure needs to be applied. Be sure to stroke your cat GENTLY with the brush, especially at first until he gets used to it. If you stroke too hard, he'll become annoyed and will let you know! You'll also wind up grabbing some of the overcoat if you apply too much force. Unfortunately, there's no "warning" about this on the packaging.

My only other comment about this tool, specifically the FURminator with the **FURejector**, is that the ejector works well enough to push the trapped hair forward of the combing teeth, but the undercoat hair doesn't magically drop onto the floor at that point, as one would hope. It must be manually removed. The solution is to keep a towel nearby, and after thumbing the ejector button, to then swipe the comb across a towel. This allows you to hold the cat with one hand, and use the brush effectively with the other.

As much as the cats love this (gentle) de-shedding process, it still takes two hands; this is a major consideration for purchasing the FURminator with the FURejector, rather that just the regular tool without the ejector.

5.0 out of 5 stars FURminator deShedding Tool with FURejector, June 2, 2009

This is an amazing tool. I would highly recomend this grooming tool to anyone who has a pet who sheds in the house. We have a Labrador Retriever mix who seems to manufacture extra hair. Since we started using the FURminator to groom him, the amount of hair on the floor in the house has decreased by 90%. The first time we used it we got nearly a shopping bag of hair from him. He looks better, and my wife is happy about not having to constantly vacuum the hair in the house. The FURejector feature of the tool is very convenient, as it speeds up the grooming process.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, May 8, 2009

I admit I was skeptical also, found the lowest price on Amazon and thought I would give it a try rather than buying a cheaper imitation at walmart. This is an amazing tool, I have a German Shepherd which are nicknamed the "German Shedder" and it's unbelievable how much hair this
tool pulls out and his topcoat is much silkier. It helps control the flying 'tumbleweeds' too! If you have a shedding dog or cat, buy it.

Sadly, I did not buy this product on Amazon, or I would have saved $20! I paid $54 at my local PetSmart.
My friend recommended this product to me, as my husband has finagled a dog into our home, even though I'm allergic and can't stand all the doggy tumbleweeds that roll around the house. She gets bathed regularly and combed, but I have to vacuum daily (she's a flat-coated retriever). I sat for an hour last night brushing her and got an entire grocery bag full of hair off her. I could have gotten more if she hadn't gotten bored and wanted up. With her normal brush I usually get one, maybe two handfulls of fur out of her. I could not believe how much hair came out, and it must have felt good to her, because she lay, all sprawled out in our livingroom, toungue hanging out, for an hour. I also used it on our cat, and he seemd to enjoy it as well. Even at the higher price, I'm still extremely happy I bought this product.

My dog Jodie is a lab mix that sheds constantly. I bought this item in the hopes that it would cut down on the amount of hair that falls off her and it sure did. I wouldn't say its a miracle, but it's cut down the amount of hair considerably with daily grooming. The hair comes out very easily with the "ejector" and trust me there is a huge pile of hair to clean up afterwards!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, April 19, 2009
This review is from: FURminator deShedding Tool with FURejector (Misc.)
I was skeptical, but I have to admit this does a terrific job!!! It removes the undercoat on my golden, my mixed breed and even my cats. They all seem to like it and I could easily make 3 new dogs out of the fur I've gotten off just my golden. 5 stars, easily!!

This is the best grooming tool I have ever used. My labrador retriever has trouble sitting still long enough to brush down her whole body. Now I can get the task done in less than half the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars flipping for furminator, May 27, 2009
This review is from: FURminator deShedding Tool with FURejector (Misc.)
This gadget works as advertised!
my dog should be bald right now for all the hair I have removed from him, but he is not. Furminator makes it easy with a simple brushing motion that my dog loves. He AND my cats sit and enjoy everything I do with the Furminator!! Would recommend this product to anyone and everyone with furry four-legged loved ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good product, July 9, 2009

After years of resisting paying an outrageous amount for a Furminator, I finally relented and found the best price on Amazon, as usual. One cat of ours sheds so much year-round that I had to do something. I'm very happy with the Furminator and both cats seem to like it. It sure does remove the fur! I haven't noticed any "cutting" of the hair, just a sleeker coat with much less loose fur flying around. The ejector works fine in that you don't have to pull the fur out of the comb, not a huge deal if you wanted to pay a little less without it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money, June 26, 2009
This review is from: FURminator deShedding Tool with FURejector (Misc.)
I was reluctant to spend so much on a brush for my cat but after daily vacuuming decided I would give the FURminator a try. It is so GREAT. I couldn't believe the amount of hair that came off of him - a pile almost the size of him of white fluffy fine hair and he still has a lot left (I'm not quite sure where it's all coming from). It doesn't take as much hair from my Goldendoodle but then he doesn't shed. Well worth the money.
