Wonderful overview of the history of FWD,

This review is from: FWD Trucks 1910-1974 Photo Archive (Paperback)
Robert Gabrick has done an outstanding job of putting the history of FWD into pictures. The photographs are especially impressive in their clarity and adbundance. Each photograph has a well documented caption and is in chronological order which gives the reader a step-by-step history of the major advances throughout the company's rich history. A highly recommended book for those interested in FWD in general or for those who just like to read about old trucks.

This review is from: FWD Trucks 1910-1974 Photo Archive (Paperback)
This is a Great Book if you are the Sad Owner of FWD Trucks like me. The Company more or less went Bankrupt. FWD Seagrave is still building a few Fire Trucks as of 2009. They still answer their phone when I need a part for my FWD but they want $2,000 for an axle shaft or $22,000.00 for a ring gear and pinion.
This is nothing short of theft and Robbery. I guess as of Today FWD's only belong in Museums and in Books like this Book. FWD was a great Company in their day, but they didn't keep up with the times and FWD had too many parts breakage problems. The photos are great and their is some good information on the History of FWD in this book. |
