Purchased for GE GXWH04F Filter Body. I will update after installation. I have purchased some food grade grease to lubricate the body threads after some of the feedback written here.

GE offers about 4 different filters in this format. Each has different construction and purpose.
FXUSC (Polyspun)Reduces sand, soil, silt, sediment and rust
FXWPC (Pleated) Not Available?
FXWSC (String Wound) Not Available?
FXWTC (Carbon Paper Sediment)Reduces chlorine, sand, soil, silt, sediment and rust

Also note the descriptions were ambiguous, was this a 2 Pack? Fortunately they have clarified the description.

Update: The cartridge began to plug after less than two months. It is being used for a cistern. It is likely that this will have to be replaced monthly. Much more frequent than I expected.

Update 2: I am now on about an 8 week replacement cycle, which represents about 4 to 6 weeks of actual usage based on home occupancy.

This filter does an ecellent job of filtering out the smaller particles (1-5 microns). Great for a small home with limited water usage (2 people).
This model also fits any other brand of water filter housing that uses 9 3/4 inch x 2 1/2 inch filter cartridges.
