5.0 out of 5 stars Beatles Songs with a Christmas Twist!
You hear the intro - it's "I Saw Her Standing There" - but wait - it leads into "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer"! Or is that "Eight Days a Week"? No it's not, it's "Let It Snow"! a REAL Beatle's Christmas album, this will have to do. It's fun to hear "Hark" instead of "Help" as "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" is sung to the tune "Help". Or the acoustic intro of "Norwegian Wood" leading into "Away in A Manger". Did I think it was the Beatles? No. The instrumentation is pretty close to the boys, the vocals vary. The harmonies are good, "Paul" and...

5.0 out of 5 stars Beatles Songs with a Christmas Twist!, February 22, 2003
This review is from: A Fab Four Christmas: The Ultimate Beatles Tribute, Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
You hear the intro - it's "I Saw Her Standing There" - but wait - it leads into "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer"! Or is that "Eight Days a Week"? No it's not, it's "Let It Snow"! This concept has the potential for cheesiness, but instead it achieves its goal of "How would traditional Christmas songs sound if the Beatles got their hands on them?" with amazing talent and accuracy. You'll find yourself listening to this album in January, February, March . . . you won't be able to hear Christmas songs quite the same way again! Each song is re-created in Beatles style by The Fab Four, one of the premiere Beatles tribute bands in the U.S. But you'll swear it's John Lennon singing "Away In A Manger" or George Harrison singing "What Child Is This?" Extremely clever and extremely well done.

The harmonies are good, "Paul" and "John" aren't far off the mark, while "Ringo" sounds like someone trying hard to sound like Ringo. But overall, it's fun!! And like I said, since we'll never get a real Beatle's Christmas album, this will have to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic holiday music, December 24, 2006
This review is from: A Fab Four Christmas: The Ultimate Beatles Tribute, Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
Someone is a genius to come up with this idea. And it is done perfectly. Music is dead on recreation of the Beatles sound. You'd swear it was Paul and John singing. Perfect for your musician friends. = )

5.0 out of 5 stars Fab Four Christmas, January 11, 2009

One of the most clever musical groups ever, not to mention incredible cover bands, the Fab Four put together two albums of familiar Christmas songs; this one, available on Amazon, and Have Yourself a FAB-ulous Little Christmas, apparently out of print and somewhat harder to find. Both offer standard Yuletide fare, but with a twist: as each song begins, you hear the opening bars to different Beatles hits and think, "Oh, that's _______!" But instead, it is a favorite Christmas song done the way the Lads might have, and though musical theme/feel of the Beatles tune from the opening bars carries through the whole song, the melody of the Christmas song is still unmistakeably there. The singing is much more than slightly reminiscent of John and Paul, and in one case Ringo, and overall, it is a pleasant and nostalgic change from much of the Christmas music being ground out by so many other artists. Even the cover smacks of the design from the later Beatles album "1". Good fun, and a regular in the CD changer around our place from Dec 1-31.

I met these guys on a trip to Liverpool in August 2004 and I was told about their Christmas CD's (2). They are the best. Oh my god... How awesome these CDs are! You could swear John Lennon is singing Away in a Manger and you would think you would hear "I saw her standing there" NOT.. It is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! You have to buy these!! Just have to!

4.0 out of 5 stars Why CAN'T we have a REAL Beatles Christmas Album?, December 8, 2010

This review is from: A Fab Four Christmas: The Ultimate Beatles Tribute, Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
A customer below laments the absence of a REAL Beatles Christmas album and that it's not possible to ever have one. Well why not? The Beatles recorded 7 Christmas songs for their fan club. Gather those and then add Lennon's Happy Christmas (War is Over) and McCartney's Wonderful Christmas Time. Surely there must be one more Christmas song somewhere from one of the Beatles that could be used to round out a CD of 10 songs. It would be great!

Having said that, I really like this CD. I like the music, I like the idea and thanks to the Fab Four for thinking of it. The sound quality of this volume is not as good as the 2nd volume, but never-the-less, it's worth owning.

5.0 out of 5 stars sheer genius, December 20, 2007

it's funny.. i saw "the fab four" at the aladdin in las vegas a year before i heard "rockin around the christmas tree" to the tune of "got to get you into my life" on a local radio station here. i called the station to find out it was the fab four and promptly ordered the cd's. i wasn't exactly sure it was the same fab four until i saw tour dates on their record label website, but turns out it is them! it was a great live show.

the best thing about the christmas cds is how clever they are. they really must have put a lot of thought into what beatles song would pair well with each christmas song. i don't know if i'll be listening to them all year 'round like some of the reviewers here, but the first 10 secs of each song is enough to put a smile on your face if you're not laughing already.

was definitely worth the low price. buy it!
