About the Author

Jan L. Riddell has been planning events for more than 15 years. Some of the events she has planned with public attendance include annual outdoor pancake breakfasts attended by over 2500 people, book launches and author readings, town hall forums, car rallies and sporting events. Jan's work with a national TV broadcaster provided opportunities to plan events like television show premieres and new season launches. Jan also plans corporate engagements like annual general meetings, industry open houses, incentive travel bonuses and dinners with high-profile politicians and corporate leaders. As well as working with corporate and industry clients, Jan has also planned family reunions, birthdays and weddings and anniversaries. Jan studied Event Meeting Management at George Brown College in Toronto, and in addition to planning events also has an interior decorating company. Carol Palmatier is a marketing and communications professional with more than 15 years' experience creating memorable events and programs. She has worked with leaders in business and industry, as well as small businesses and non-profit organizations including the American Lung Association, National Safety Council Girl Scouts of the USA. Her most recent event work included planning special events for the Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce near Detroit, where she coordinated southeast Michigan's largest golf outing and spearheaded the annual Brighton Art Fest. She is also now part owner and managing partner of Four Point Editorial, a content creation and editing firm with offices in Florida and Detroit. A graduate of The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, she has lived in New York and San Francisco, and now resides with her family in Michigan. Tag Goulet has planned numerous events for corporations and non-profit organizations, and developed systems for planning and marketing events as owner of a national seminar company. She is currently co-CEO of FabJob Inc., an award-winning publishing company named "the #1 place to get published online" by Writer's Digest. As a leading career expert, her advice appears frequently at AOL.com and MSN.com, and she has been featured in many media including ABC, Oprah.com, Female Entrepreneur, and stories at the Wall Street Journal and Entrepreneur Magazine sites. Tag is a contributor to more than a dozen books including USA Today and Amazon.com bestsellers, and has spoken before hundreds of thousands of people in dozens of cities over the past 15 years. She is also featured as an expert on event planning careers in the "Masters of Event Planning" series and has been featured as an expert on dream careers in Woman's Day and Woman's World magazines. Peter J. Gallanis is a veteran newspaper and magazine reporter. In the course of his duties for publications such as the Chicago Tribune and DSN Retailing Today, a nation-wide retail trade publication, Gallanis has covered a variety of events including new store openings, press conferences and trade shows. On a more personal side, he's coordinated his own events, including baby showers, dinner parties and children's birthday parties.
