A serious writing implement for the serious writer, perhaps best used by an architect to do single line drawings or sketches. Stunningly attractive pencil: chrome grip and chrome top sandwich a barrel, in my case, black resin. As thick as a fountain pen. Kind of top heavy -- which ironically makes the pencil lay better in the fork of your hand between thumb and index finger. With this kind of fulcrum, penciling is a delight ... almost as if there were no end to the pencil. It takes a 0.7mm lead, a robust almost unbreakable lead. One fills the reservoir with leads by unscrewing the bottom tip. The user does NOT access the mechanism part of the device. There is an eraser hidden under the cap. I never intend to use that bullt-in eraser. A gorgeous cap includes a sturdy, spring-loaded clip. That said, I shall keep this pencil in a holster on my desk. It writes ... better said, the lead flows from this pencil. It is a sensuous experience. Given the high center of gravity, it is akin to using chopsticks. Even with a light grip, one has total control of the implement. I intend to use the pencil mainly for music notation. The superb feel in one's hand and the flexibility of surfaces with a broader lead will make that writing job much, much easier -- and pleasurable in a physical sense. Highly recommended for someone with a special penciling need. A handsome accessory to someone's briefcase or desk. This is the kind of design that warrants MoMA contention or notice.

Pencil looks nice and the lead is really smooth and pleasurable to write with. The biggest flaw with this pencil is the metal "cap" that sits on top of the pencil. It looks great, but this cap rests on some plastic parts that seem a little cheap. Although the cap fits tightly on the top of the pencil, somehow the cap has a rather loose fit and a noticeable wobble, perhaps due to the plastic base that the cap attaches to. This flaw really detracts from the elegance and quality of the pencil. It is a shame and I expect more from a $50 pencil.

This is a pretty smart and professional looking pencil. It is comfortable to grip and write. It has a solid feel and no flimsy parts. The twist action to get the pencil lead out is awesome. Overall a gentleman's pencil.

The only trouble with this, this may vary upon personal choice, the weight distribution is at the back of the pencil, but it is surprisingly comfortable to write with.

I tried to buy this Faber Castell Pencil from a few other companies and they kept letting me down..that is until I found this place!!!! They had a good price, sent it out right away and it was sent safely so the case looks good and it is a new product. I know that they didn't make the pencil but sure do love it...thanks guys!

And to top it off....they left a personal thank which you don't find from companies very often anymore
