I'm half way through this book and already I wish it went on longer. some of the stories will curl your hair. some will amaze you. some will bore you, but I've only encountered a very few of those. for the most part this is an exciting read.

Should of been titled The Faber Book of War Reportage or Eye Witness to War because that is the subject of nine tenth of the accounts. From 430 BC to the fall of President Marcos in the Philippines 1986. I started reading from the back, figuring I'd start with what I knew of. After a while it became too depressing, so switched to the beginning. Same. If you are interested in the inhumanity of man, the depraved things we do then this is for you. I already know it. |
