5.0 out of 5 stars Great resourse to inspire and educate., June 6, 2007
This review is from: Faberge Eggs : A Book of Ornaments (Hardcover)
I used this book in my 6th grade Social Studies class to augment the curriculum. The eggs actually come out of the book. The students reproduced them, learned the history of and enjoyed the lesson much more than with the text alone.

This review is from: Faberge Eggs : A Book of Ornaments (Hardcover)
This book has six "ornaments", each with a different picture of a Faberge egg. The ornaments are made from thick cardboard and are about 5" high and 3-1/2" wide with a hole at the top for hanging them. [New books contained a gold cord to hang the ornaments with.] Some of the eggs themselves were larger and others smaller than the ornaments. The pictures are very nicely done on both sides in color and show clear details of the many gem stones. However, the surprises which were once inside these eggs are not shown. There is only about two small pages of text. Ornaments are interesting, but one should not expect any serious details about the history of each egg or their associated surprises. Eggs were made as Easter presents, but presumably in U.S. would be hung on Christmas trees.
