This book had some natural fabric samples, but there wasn't much synthetic fabric samples and doesn't give a comprehensive approach to all fabrics for someone wanting a complete resource book.

the swatch book brings small samples of fabrics to try.
i was expecting a bit more, more special/less popular types of fabric.
in the end, it is an interesting material for those who have just started studying fabric/fashion/textiles.

some of the samples are mis-identified, so if you already know 'em u'll sort it out, but then you dont really need the book already. and if you are not familiar with the fabrics, its like a puzzle game, you'll have to sort it out.

As a woman who owns oodles of textile books, this is one of my favorites. Not the most comprehensive collection of textiles out there, but the fact that the samples are undyed is more valuable than you might expect. You tend to get a better feel for the textiles than I expected, it gives a neutral playing ground for the fabrics and allows a quicker identification. Worth the money, which in my book is rare for textile publications.

There are over 100 swatches in this book of high quality fabrics. The first part of the book has a section discussing yarn and fabric construction and different types of weaves. There is nice chart that clarifies different types of fabrics based on whether they are artificial, natural or fully synthetic. This book though contains fabrics of natural fibers; of wool, silk, linen and cotton as well as a few less common fibers. The chapters are nicely organized and pages are beautifully designed, It's a good addition to any fabric library.

What gives this fabric guide an edge is the fabric samples which coincide with the written info. The authors provide more than just the basic fabric types. For instance, sample swatches for many different types of wool are provided. An invaluable addition to any fabric library.

Received the book. It is an amazing book since I am a 1st year fashion design student and gives me the possibility to feel the fabrics. Definitely worth the money.
