If you like mixing various fabrics together, then this is your book.
E. Nelson
The book is of excellent quality, the full color photographs are most illustrative, and the projects are adaptable.
Emmeline G. Pankhurst
I love that idea and variations on a theme is something that's needed in craft books for awhile now.

As someone with a vast collection of craft books I can easily say that most "new" craft books are just rehashing of the same ideas in other books. Especially when it comes to books dealing with fabric scraps-it seems like every book I bought had the same projects- basically "add fabric to tea towel" blah blah blah.

This book was a fantastic surprise! Original new ideas beautifully photographed, well written and chock full of info and eye candy. If you are like me-kinda eclectic and "artsy fartsy" but you do not like strict "paint by the numbers" crafts then you will love this book!

The author even gives great info on scrap storage, disassembling old clothes to acquire more fabric. She gives you about five basic scrappy ideas-then loads of ways to run with those simple ideas to create gorgeous projects! I love that idea and variations on a theme is something that's needed in craft books for awhile now. This book will make you want to immediately start creating:)

Now the projects here are very freeform, whimsical and brightly colored. If you find you don't like those things artistically then you may not like the authors style but I love it!

Highly recommend this book!

5 stars.

If you are someone looking for specific projects, be aware that the ones included here are, to my sensibility, tacky. Hit the "Suprise Me!" button in the "Search Inside" feature a few times to see if these projects match your style. If you can look at a process and figure out how to use it in a different way, this book still isn't worth the price because she uses the same techniques over and over again. I gave it two stars because, while I might use some of the techniques, I was "done" with the book in about 30 minutes.

I just can't throw away little pieces of fabric and, finally, I have a solution. Well, not just one, a ton of solutions - all presented with clear, easily accessible instructions (and lots and lots of colorful picture examples). The text is fun and helpful and the book is beautifully designed. I'm short on crafting space anymore so I don't buy many craft books but this book is well worth the money whether your style is country or Bohemian chic!

This book is great. Has many ideas that will stimulate your creativity. And you will be so glad you saved all those small scraps even though you never knew why! She even has ideas to use thread pieces....this is a book I will share with my sewing friends as we look for quick projects that cost little if anything. This would be a good book for kids too who are learning to sew small projects by hand and machine.

This is a very creative book that is for anyone who loves crafts and sewing and who has a ton of scraps, like myself. The photographs are lushious and instructions are well done and easy to follow. The projects are varied so that there is something for everyone. Many of the projects can be completed within an hour and lets you use some of those features on your machine that you haven't touched. A great read and a book to keep in your library.

This book gives practical and useable projects for using those little fabric scraps. And, being fortunate enough to own one of the author's creations, I can also say that the results "in hand" are stunning!

A great book for gift ideas from materials you already own.

I was really, really disappointed with this book. It is certainly not my idea of using fabric leftovers, more like fabric collage. If you are a fiber artist it may have some interesting projects, but everything looks the same, and I didn't find it very inspiring.

Excellent book with a nice number of quick gift ideas. For those of us who can't bear to part with that 3 inches of lace, the yard or two of unique yarn or the samples we have tried on our sewing and embroidery machines...not to memntion the scraps "we might be able to use someday", we can NOW justify keeping these bits and pieces and using them to create other one-of-a-kind gifts. Well written, excellent pictures and instructions and lots of ideas that will start those creative ideas blooming.
