Unexpected pleasure,
This review is from: Fabric Live 27 (Audio CD)
This is one of a series of mixes from the London club Fabric. The mix this night was big slabs of funk, hip-hop, blues, jazz, rock, woven together to keep the groove going but always changing in style and decade. Ella Fitzgerald and Cleo Laine are in there doing their thing.
It'll probably work great as party music - background music for chatting, turn it up and you'll all be grooving, later and mellower you'll be listening to the lyrics and all the cool stuff going on. And some amazingly live-sounding funky work-outs. There are some rough edges and one or two dodgy transitions between some of the splices, but this all makes the mix itself seem more "live" and adds to the overall party vibe. I'll give it five.

A little on the self-indulgent side,

This review is from: Fabric Live 27 (Audio CD)
Generally the Fabriclive series is pretty solid, and the Format cuts I've heard I have enjoyed, so I got this.
The first few cuts are good. I really like 3ft. deep. But after that it kinda falls into a pattern of one self indulgent jam track after the next. I had a hard time listening to the whole thing.
