4.0 out of 5 stars Phuture Phunk
This is actually a rather diverse DnB mix, from one of the originals of the scene: Grooverider (recently returned to civilization from a prison in Dubai). I think the other reviewer may have been expecting more of a home-friendly listen, perhaps along the lines of LTJ Bukem. While as a live set, this is a bit rough on the home stereo, the track selection is actually quite...

I expected better quality tracks from a producer. The tracks on this cd lack musicianship and creativity. They sound like the guy just discovered DnB. Simple samples thrown together that just don't sound good. Second time listening to the cd I skipped thru most of it. BORING!! Now I question Grooverider as an artist.

I think the other reviewer may have been expecting more of a home-friendly listen, perhaps along the lines of LTJ Bukem. While as a live set, this is a bit rough on the home stereo, the track selection is actually quite diverse, with several showstopping VIP mixes. Plus, there is some WICKED beat science on a few tracks (especially DJ SS, Dillinja, etc.)...

If this isn't a solid pick as far as live DnB mixes go, I'm not sure what would be!

Raw, Uncut and pretty rough. After listening to DJ Hype's Fabriclive.03, Grooverider brings me back to my musical reality. This genre is not for me.

2/5 stars.
