5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best
Phenomenal. Period. Mr Barrett has produced a classic. From track one to twenty, it never lets up or gives you a chance to ask why. One of my personal favorites was Life Rhythm by Logistics. It brings me back to better days for the scene. The records' mix is spot on. Jazz laden tracks in the beginning, female additions in the middle, and true bass rolling jungle at the...

High Contrast is one of my favs, so when I see something from him, I get it, no questions asked. This mix doesn't dissapoint. High Contrast is one of my favs, so when I see something from him, I get it, no questions asked. This mix doesn't dissapoint. At first you recognize a few tracks that you love immediately, and then others start to run through your head. Before you know it you're digging nearly the whole mix. There are some monotonous filler tracks, but the majority of this disc are new tracks by well-known d'n'b players, aka klute, cyantific, london elektricity. There's a great Jenna G track too, and there isn't a "feat. " in front of her name. At the end of the disc HC includes one of his own, a remix of Stevie Nicks' "Edge of Seventeen". I don't think the remix is quite as exciting as the original, and it kind of drones on in a trancy marathon pace. Regardless, I don't think you'll be let down ... this is another HC winnner.

This compilation is one of the best drum n bass mix's I've ever heard. It's so seamless and full of passion, not one dull moment. I'd totally recomend this to any junglist. Lincoln Barrett (the dj) is in my opinion the best dnb producers ever!

4.0 out of 5 stars Drum n Bass Blast, March 22, 2006
This review is from: FabricLive 25 - High Contrast (Audio CD)
High Contrast is with out doubt one of the top drum n bass DJ/producers in the world. This mix for the fabriclive set is most definitely up to par. With a wide array of different styles of beats, Lincoln Barret takes you through the every expanding realm of Drum n Bass. Although the entire disc is good, the last 7 songs are outstanding. A good purchase for anyone interested in D n B

5.0 out of 5 stars It will make you nod your head!, January 16, 2006

The ultimate in Road Music. The music and voices are timeless. One can discern minute samplings from some of the now unobtainable / most valuable music to come out of England. It is one of the great ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars DnB mix., May 30, 2008
This review is from: FabricLive 25 - High Contrast (Audio CD)
Good mix. To be honest, the first time I listened to this mix, his brand of DnB blew my mind. Definitely a breath of fresh air from all of the run-of-the-mill techno/house compilations out there. This guy is such an obvious talent that you have to believe he was going to make a mark sooner or later. I would also do a search (google) for his 2007 Essential Mix (voted the Essential Mix of 2007). It's a must listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Drum N Bass is still alive!, February 18, 2006
This review is from: FabricLive 25 - High Contrast (Audio CD)
This is a very strong cd. I kind of stopped listening to dnb in the last few years but have been surprised by High Contrast. He combines the energy of drumnbass with the soulfullness of jazz and grandness of a symphony. One can appreciate this cd because of the sheer diversity of tracks. Klute & Jenna G tracks are my favorites.

5.0 out of 5 stars The future of D'nB is here, January 17, 2006
This review is from: FabricLive 25 - High Contrast (Audio CD)
This is an awesome album, I wasn't expecting this... It seems that the label Hospital Records has some of the most talented artists for drum and bass, i.e. Nu:tone, London Elektricity... all are very talented, but High contrast is by far my favorite... Buy it you won't regret it!
