50 is NOT old!!!, May 8, 2007
Do you tend to think the glass is half full or half empty? Either way, if you're a lady of a certain age, you'd probably enjoy this book very much. It's a humorous, sensible look at life for a female (at least mostly) who has reached that midway point in life.
Fifty is no longer old. In fact, fifty is now referred to as the new thirty-five! For longevity purposes, that's probably accurate, as, just a century ago, few women lived past the age of fifty. As of now, statistics indicate that if you get past fifty, chances are you should make it to eighty-four! Good grief, Charlie Brown!
Chances are you won't just wake up one morning and discover that you're old. Old, after all, is more a state of mind than anything else. You truly are as old as you feel. Never mind what you might look like! Your innards will pretty much tell you how old you really are. If you've taken reasonable care of yourself up `til that big 50 date, chances are you'll manage the remaining years in good condition, too.
But just in case you think a guidebook might be in order, FABULOUS AFTER 50 will certainly answer that description. Beginning with `how old are you anyway?' and proceeding through `there's more!' the book looks at being single again, the delicious topic of tadpoles, exercise, romance, diet, fashion, cosmetic surgery, menopause, the role of girlfriends in your life and travel, plus a few assorted others.
The second half of the title is ". . . and Sexy at 60!" so it's quite inclusive. Now, if only these two sassy ladies would do a '70-something going on 49' type of book. That's the one we really need! There are so many of us out there, with no good guidebooks for the next quarter century. Help!

Funny, quick, true read, May 9, 2008
This review is from: Fabulous After Fifty: And Sexy at Sixty! (Paperback)
Judy Steinberg has a great sense of humor. Many of the issues she brings up in this book I can relate to, now at 51 years of age. She candidly brings up everything from sex positions for the best weight control techniques to advice on questions to ask when considering plastic surgery.
The author ends on an uplifting note, leaving empowerment in the hands of each individual woman, stating that "Knowledge is power" and she wrote "Fabulous After 50, and Sexy at 60" to share what she has learned, and she certainly dishes it out. Elaine Williams

Old Product, June 13, 2011
This review is from: Fabulous After Fifty: And Sexy at Sixty! (Paperback)
The book had yellowed pages and I was embarrased to give it as a gift. I expected that it had been protected from aging. Oh well.
